hi i ran the demo really smooth on medium/low but i noticed that alot of textures would pop in and it was very annoying. my fps also lowered to like 20 at the beach

do you think i could fix these and stay at a constant 30 fps onthe full game?

CPU is 3 GHz

4gb ram

directx 11 if that even makes it run better

and radeon x1950.... i know this is outdated but i dont need to run on all high.

the full game is better alright, but i can't guarantee it. Crysis Warhead is even better optimized.

The Custom Crysis Configuration utility helps performance a lot, and will spiff up Crysis too. However, if you can't run the beach all that well, you're going to have problems later in the game. The snow/alien levels take a significant hit, and the game started recurrently freezing/crashing on me at the final level. Guess I'll just have to leave it for when I can get a better computer...

Both most likely, your CPU probably is a pentium 4 by the sounds of the rest of your build, you can get custom configs that can give you better performance without too much of a visuals hit but you cant expect the game to look very good on an old computer like that.

There were performance updates with the patches that gave slight performance increases. Then again the demo level is one of the least demanding levels of the game.

if you mean Windows Experience Index, it just measures your Windows performance. It doesn't tell you anything about gaming performance. Crysis would greatly benefit from dualcore CPU, so you are pretty heavily bottlenecked with a single core only. You should keep the physics settings at the lowest settings.

New powersupply doesn't increase performance at all. It just gives you the flexibility to add more powerful components to your rig. SC2 is not even nearly as demanding as Crysis, even if it's a newer game. I'd say you could get 5-10 frames (at max) with the more optimized full version. Again, that's just a guess...

Also, you might wan't to use the mod that mattuk69 suggested. Never tried it myself, but lets take his word on it :)

even if you use Win7 with DX11, your GPU only supports DX9, so you're gonna have to run it with that.

Crysis allways has pop in, even maxed out. Its just the engine, You can try raisng oblect detail and acreifive textures or shaders. As for locking the framerate, you will have to enable V-Sync, depending on you monitor this will mean you have to maintain at least 30 or 37.5 FPS somehow (unless you want to play at 15/17.5 FPS). CCC config is great, but also try changing the config your self, Tweak Guides are a good place to start.

I used to have that graphics card, infact ive still got it, just not installed lol. I had the same thing, the card really isnt much good for crysis. Also, it will be running in DX 9, not DX 11 or 10 :)

The full game is better optimized than the demo, especially with patches, but it's not going to give you miraculous improvement. Like someone else said, it'll be about a 10 FPS increase. Also, you severely overestimate how good your PC is. For one thing, if you can only run Starcraft II on LOW settings it's surprising that Crysis will even run in the first place. Your PSU did not increase the performance of your system. If your GPU wasn't getting enough power before it would have simply crashed the computer and caused a reboot. The x1950 is an ancient card that's not really fit for gaming anymore. Your CPU is most likely a single core which is also completely obsolete at this point (games long ago switched over to dual cores and are now well into the transition of going from dual to quad cores). If you want to play Crysis at steady FPS you'll either need to download CCC and use it's "super low" setting or get a new PC.

if you have windows vista/7 just use -dx9 at the end of the shotcut to make the game run in direct x 9 and not 10, you will win 5-10 fps overall and the difference is not big (works for both normal and warhead)

Late loading textures and memory leaks are really bad in Warhead for my tastes.

Maybe I should try actually BUYING that game :P.

this is completely useless, since the GPU simply CAN'T run any applications in DX10 mode.

I didn't have those, and you, sir, are a disease in the PC gaming community.
