Every time I go to play Crysis it goes to a black screen. The game is running and I get sound and everything, but the screen is black. I am running 8800 GTS SLI and I have force alternate frame rendering on. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I get something similar to that, but I'm running a 2900XT, when I load up Crysis the Nvidia symbol is all screwed up, similar to bad TV reception. but when the menu comes up everything runs fine.

Update your video card drivers. Thats the first thing you should do. Make sure you have the latest patch.

Do you have a CRT monitor?:P I know they are old, but I always had problems like that in my CRT monitor (it's caused by the refresh ratio).

The movies could be corrupted or you might not have the right codecs, try to rename the intro movies to anything else and restart the game.

If it still doesn't work check your installation of Crysis, and do a clean install of your drivers, etc.

I had the same problem and this is how I fixed it:

What it was in the end was the files that it kept after I had removed and reinstalled the game. In vista, you go to C:/users/*you username*/documents/mygames/crysis. Now delete the entire crysis folder and then launch the game and it worked for me.

I reformatted my computer and kept that crysis folder, because I wanted to keep my save games, but it also keeps data about your computer and shader information about the game itself. So once i deleted it, it made a new one and everything worked fine.

Try something like this in XP and see if it works, just find the saved data and delete it. hope this helps!

Happened to me before, fixed after i reinstalled though. Also encountered a bug were none of the enemy AI were spawned with weapons.. To be honest crysis has to be one of the buggiest games ive ever played.

I have the same problem too with Crysis and Crysis Warhead. Game works perfect untill my monitor turns off and goes to stand by mode but I can't wake him up anymore so I have to restart the computer. I tried almost everything: I changed refresh rate of my monitor and it helpet a little (previously monitor turned off directly after the game loaded, with refresh rate changed it works from 30 seconds to 5 minutes, but no more than that). I reinstalled drivers for several times but nothing help, I deleted the folder in my documents and it didn't help.

I have ATI HD 4850 and all other new games work perfect.

disable SLI mode and try again.

if problem persists, pull one card out of the motherboard and try again.

It could be incompatibility with 64bits, you should try downloading patch 1.2 and 1.2.1.

To fix the black screen problem, you need to search for : Game Fix / Crack: Crysis 2 v1.9 All No-DVD [Fairlight] NoDVD NoCD. The Rar file is about 23.8MB, when you right click on the Crysis2.exe copy it to the bin32 folder and replace the original. If you cannot find the file search in google for : crysis 2 crack then download Game Fix / Crack: Crysis 2 v1.9 All No-DVD [Fairlight] NoDVD NoCD.from this website: http://megagames.com/fixes/crysis-2-v19-all-0

I had this problem aswell. To solve it I downloaded the binx64 file which can be found by googleing it. Download that and you will be able to run it no problem.
