Take into consideration my specs.

3 GB Ram

NVIDIA BFG 8800 GT OC 512 MB

2.4 GHZ Quad Core.

I wouldn't mind getting Crysis if I could run it med-high settings at 30 FPS (deomo didn't run that smoothly, but maybe the final code will), but I'm not sure if it's all thats its craked up to be.

I hear Call of Duty 4 is fun but short; and the multiplayer is supposed to rock (I liked Rainbow Six Vegas ranking system).

World in Conflict seems to be the best RTS of the year, or I could get the expansion to Company of Heroes or Supreme Commander.

I may end up getting two (Christmas cash rocks), but which game would you suggest?

COD4 Crysis is good, but it gets boring fast. The pretty graphics are pretty much he best part of that game.

Mate your Rig is better than mine and well i can run Crysis just fine on all high settings at 1280 x 1024 with AA on as well i think i have that at x4 at the moment.

My advice is try rolling back your Drivers or updating your GPU Drivers, oh and have a look around for Tweaks for your Processors also checking your Driver version for them may help.

Honestly you can run Crysis easily and i would recomend it.

As for your question its a hard one World in Conflict is an RTS so well its a lot different to the other 2 highly rated so i hear as well but personally im not a fan after playing the Demo.

Call of Duty 4 well again im not a fan i dont like the way the game pushes you all the damn time through the enviroments, i would much prefer to be able to take stock of a situation every now and again but so far all COD4 has done is push and shove me through!

Yeah and Crysis i would go with over the others IMO well there you go.

Some more advice consider highering the priority of Crysis Demo, try a Defrag and check your GPU settings oh and i hope you got some Anti virus Etc AVG is a good place to start for that.

Completely disagree with this.. IMO COD4 is the most over-rated game of this year.. The singleplayer is laughable at times with the most lienar tempo controling shooter I have seen for years now.. Linear gamepaly is all fine and dandy but when they pout a picket fence (yes a picket fence) in my way as a border where I can't go it draws the line.. This coupled with guys that seem to respawn constantly intill you you cross a certain point, broken AI where the guys follow a set path three feet fromt heir spawn point and fight.. Where in other cases they stand in the open where dozens just get picked off.. Not to mention the enemy AI 75% of the time FIRES AT YOU, even when your team mates are sitting in the wide open and I am behind cover.. Makes so much sense..

Multiplayer is OK, there is nothign dazzling by it specially when there are tons of multiplayers to choose from for cheap such as BF series, Coutnerestrike source, Team Fortress 2, Unreal tournaments etc etc..

Crysisdoesn't have much of a multiplayer yet but its singlepalyer is amazing.. Graphics aside its one of the most indepth and flexiable shooters I have played.. This is coming from some one who didn't particularly enjoyFarcry, it was a good game but looking back at it I could never play it again. Crysis is completely different, the game has wide and variedgameplay where you can choose how youw ant to fight from stealth, to run and gun, to long range harrassment etc etc.. The majority off all levels aswell allows you to have multiple approachsgiveing tons of replayability.

I can't comment on World of Conflict because I have yet to play the game or even the demo.. But from what I have seen som epeople say its over-ratedand others say its a awesome game.. Unfortantely these people never explain their reasons why they concluded it to be that.

Sounds Like I may just get Crysis: I personally never tried Far Cry either.

Maybe I should turn down my AA on Crysis, I just maxed it out ;)

I'll run a defrag as well.

I disagree with you guys thinking CoD4 is overrated.

It just isn't your style of game I guess. To me, It is the best single player FPS I have played since Half Life.

No not at all, I liked FEAR, HL2, HL and numerous other linear shooters.. This game to me is Over-rated plain and simple.. I can only get so much enjoyment by sitting in a spot killing 12 guys that look nearly the same who go in the exact cover placement I shot the last guy in.

I think Crysis MP is great. The only thing that ruins it is the occasional hacker.

Call of Duty 4 will give you the most replayability in my opinion. The single player is pretty cool as it is, however the multiplayer is where the game truly shines. There is always something to work towards and it has a fair amount of depth compared to most other shooters. Crysis definitely has graphics but the demo didn't do anything for me but it varies from person to person. World in Conflict is fun at first but kinda gets repetitive. I'd get Call of Duty 4.

I would get Crysis due to its sandbox type of game play. It has a lot of replayability and there are tons of user mad singler player missions over at Crymod.com. You are only limited by your imgaination imo. World in Conflict is great too, i'm not too crazy about the SP but the MP is amazing. It is so fast pace and intense. A refreshing change from the regular formula too, teamwork is required.

I would go with Crysis if you can run it well. I don't own it, but my freind upgraded his computer and can play it at a good 60 FPS, and maybe get Call of Duty 4 for another system, like X-Box 360.

Crysis, easily. It's simply an amazing open-ended FPS with fully destructible/interactive environments and one of the few games in which the phrase 'emergent gameplay' isn't used as a mere gimmick - Crysis delivers in spades. It gets linear towards the end, but the set-pieces are still very exciting and fun to play.

Call of Duty 4 on the other hand feels so horribly antiquated, it plays exactly like the original. Very intense scripted set-pieces, small enclosed non-interactive environments, scripted AI that just keeps coming and coming until you do exactly what the designers wanted you to do...it just feels predictable and stale. I'm told that the multiplayer somehow excuses the criminally short single-player...well, too bad I don't give a **** about Call of Duty's multiplayer.

World in Conflict is an action game masquerading as an RTS, you can mindlessly send wave after wave of your troops to get slaughtered because you simply get your points reimbursed. If there's any strategy involved in this game, it's purely coincidental. I also hated that I had to move around using the keyboard.

I disagree, the game is all about teamwork mainly and strategy. As in most RTS, keeping your units alive is vital and just spawning, dieing, spawning your not doing much for your team(I'll admit this may happen a bit on pubs because the team isn't coordinating together). With the games rock paper scissors like game play you are forced to depend on your teammates. I would reccomend playing competitevly(great ingame clan support) than just playing on the pubs. There is some confusion with the genre of the game tho, most say it is an RTT and not an RTS, I personally agree.

If you like the RTS genre than FPS, then buy World in Conflict.

If you like the FPS better than the RTS and you like a fast- paced game with good multiplayer and single player, then buy Call of Duty 4

If you like FPS but you prefer a slow- paced, stealth game with hardcore graphics(and if your PC can handle THE GOOD graphics), then go for Crysis(I regreted Crysis when I bought it because the game had a slow pacedue to allthe stealth that you had to do).

Crysis. as a PC gamer you just HAVE TO own it. it's sort of a benchmark. and a great game. i even find myself playing it online all the time, even with it being a little buggy. i heard their (Crytek) primary consern in the first patch is the netcode. sounds cool.

i'm grabbing WIC as soon as it's price drops. like SupCom.

as for COD4, i still prefer Battlefield 2 (+mods) over this one. they are different, yes, but i just didn't like it.

If you like FPS but you prefer a slow- paced, stealth game with hardcore graphics(and if your PC can handle THE GOOD graphics), then go for Crysis(I regreted Crysis when I bought it because the game had a slow pacedue to allthe stealth that you had to do).

lance435

you don't have to do ANY stealth if you don't want to. i personally don't like all the sneaking, and i played it more Rambo-style. quick saves come in handy when playing that way...

Why don't you just play the demo of each and see? Thats what im going to be doing when I get my new computer soon! After reading all those positive reviews of San Andreas and not enjoying it I dont think I'll ever buy a game again without playing it first, bar the Half-Life games which are always excellent.

I'm still playing WIC. I haven't been too impressed with it. The explosions are wonderful. Unfortunately, the game requires you to be in multiple places controlling multiple units at the same time. This takes away from being able to truly enjoy the eye candy because you are always rushing around the map under a time restraint.

you really should just get the demo for each, because each of the demos gives you a fair amount to do. You will be able to test many of the game's features. This will allow you to test how your computer runs the game, as well as how much each game appeals to you.
