crysis cd key tool launch problem

hi there...

i have a prob with cryses pc version. my system meets all the oficially stated requirements. when i try to install the game ( even with the firewall off) i get the error "couldnt launch cd key tool so setup will be terminated" even before the setup starts. can anyone plz help.thnx in advance

"cd key" makes it sound like a pirated version problem, but I could be wrong.
