im not fussed ether way its a nvidia title, so nvidia engineers have had the game to work on for months if not years ( 2006 e3? ) ati wont get it till the last min, so i will hold my judgement on ati/nvidia till at least 2-3weeks after the offical launch of crysis.

BFG 8800gtx oc2 only gets 2 fps average more than the 8800gt(with single slot cooler)@ 1680x1050 w/ high settings?

wow. I bet the revised 8800gts 640 will outperform the 8800 ultra. And it probably will oc better too because its 65nm

what do you guys think?

YES IT did! 8800 SERIES CAM 1 YEAR B4 ATI new cards, and yet 8800 are better. Thats powned, ATI uses GGDR4 and 1 Gb in it Top CARD and yet GTX kills it and not to mention the GT for $200 lol tahts hard to eat.

NVIDIA released a hotfix for Crysis, ATi did not.

ATi stated that so long as they're on the 80nm process, they will not be able to clock the core fast enough to beat the ULTRA/GTX. Hence why they binned their cores to face off the 8800 GTS, in which they succeeded in outperforming. Fission mailed.

GDDR4 and RAM density have little influence on performance compared to a card equipped with already fast GDDR3 and sufficient RAM. Fission mailed.

The 8800 GT also beats the 8800 GTS and most likely the 8800 GTX. You just got self owned--fission mailed.

This isn't really a good thing. We are all pc gamers. Don't understand the point to releasing games most compatable to a certain company's gpu. Ilived

its just probably that Nvidia are getting inside nuances about crysis for their drivers, once the game is out, all this means is that ATi drivers will come out a bit slower IMO, but differences will be down to the card, not the amount of money nvidia payed to get a free add on the game

ohplease first this benchmark didn't do dx10, second I hate how they never list the 8800 GTS 640mb, why dont they show the 2900XT's direct competitor. this benchmark loses credibility in my regard. also to boot nvidia has been working with crysis closely over the last 2 years and released a patch for this demo. If ati still beat them in that benchmark then every nvidia fanboy would just need to go home and cry in the corner. so about 2 weeks after crysis is realesed and each side has got some drivers out we will see the difference. just like bioshock initially the 8800's whiped ass on the 2900Xt but after ati got some drivers out the 2900XT managed to beat the 8800 GTX. although the playing fiel,d is far from even I think ati can pull off a victory at least be really close. filmography
