Man, how old is his computer? I do know that Crysis is a system hog as I had gotten a brand new Dell XPS 420 with a nice video card (ATI 2600 HD) and the game (demo) put the detail at only medium quality with DirectX 10. Hope this helps, some...

Not to be a downer or nothing, but an ATI HD2600 isn't a nice videocard. It's low/mid range at best.

The 2600 is low/mid for Crysis.... but Crysis only. MostEvery other game It will run at high.

Thats a no brainer with Crysis, I like my video card, I don't do a truckload of PC gaming so a "low/mid range" graphics card is perfect for me. I can always put a new one in.

Typical of a Macintosh not to think of providing specifications.

1. Go to the Start menu (accessed via rectangular bottom at left end of task bar, along bottom of screen). 2. Select 'Run'. 3. Type in 'DXDiag'. 4. Hit 'OK'. 5. If the results are presented as a text (.txt) file, copy and paste them into this thread. If they are presented in a tabbed window, select 'Save All Information...' and save it as a .txt file. Copy and paste it here. 6. Get a PC. 7. No, I'm not kidding. :p

EDIT: I guess I really didn't read your question. As has already been said, even if the demo runs like molasses, it should not effect your brother's PC when it is not actually running (allow for sluggish performance for several seconds after the game shuts down, however). But if you choose to post the DXDiag, someone can give you an estimation of how it will run--or if it will at all.

umm I don't see how it could "destroy" your computer so I think you could give it a spin.

and for the guy who got the Dell Xps 420, I just got mine recently too, accept a 8800gt 512Mb =]
