I just wanted to show some interesting things. Take it however you wish. First one is DX9, 1900x1200, All high. Second one is 2560x1600 dx9, all high. Both were used with a e8400 3.825ghz and HD4870CF 790/1100 OC. My monitor can go 2560x1600 75hz so I was viewing it all on my FW900. Seems the CF setup isnt bothered by the resolution increase.

Nice. CF would spank it on 16x10 very high. I'm sure. Easily.

My experience shows that a E6600 @ 3.0Ghz with an OC'd HD4870 (790/1100) gets an average of 36 FPS with lows in the teens and highs in the 40's at 1680x1050 on high settings with no AA. Very High isnt feasible.

Very High kills the framerate. High is more than possible, but very high isn't.

Very different results from PC_X360. I don't think his hd4870 was overclocked.

36 FPS it should read, getting my benches mixed up. Mine was in DX10 also, not DX9.

Meh, i don't even care anymore. I ran benches to see if the purchase was worthwhile. For me it wasn't, just trying to give people a view of the card with the rose-colored glasses off and the cold reality that they may face with midrange hardware. Everyone here has such massive HD4870 hard-ons it's not even worth talking about my results anymore. So go throw your money at this card, it may be worthwhile, it may not be, whatever. I'm taking my benchmarks and going home.

Nice setup btw Creasian.

I respect your results. However this was why i chose those two resolutions. I feel, and I agreed in your thread, that at lower resolutions the cards cant stretch. I am only saying overall that they do very well at higher resolutions. I was waiting for you to get home and then compare the cards at lower resolutions.

Calm down there. I dont want to give off the impression that this card is the one all be all. I just want to show where it shines and also show where it dosent.

I've got no beef with you, Creasian :D I'm happy for your results ;) unfortunately i won't be running any more benchmarks as i've already packed the card in its box and have it ready for return :(

Thats all good man. We all deserve to feel our purchases are worth it. I wouldnt tell someone unhappy with their card to keep it for any reason. But I hope we can redo this once you get whatever card you really want and stack up benchies again.
