I have Vista 32-bit HP with a 256mb 8600GT and2 gigs of 667mhz RAM.

In DirectX 10 mode, Crysis constantly lags every few seconds.

In DirectX 9 mode, I get no lag at all and the game runs nice and smoothly.

You get the same in DX10? I need a Vista service pack to fix this?

Reduce either your resolution or graphical settings. That 8600 is only a 128-Bit card, a Medium level part, from which you are probably expecting too much.

I notice in some areas for me, dx9 runs better than dx10, and vice versa. Awakening runs with 10-15 fps higher in dx10 for me... odd enough.
