Basically I'm looking it up on Steam and I'm thinking about buying the package. Would you say they're worth it? I'm just looking for an enjoyable shooter to play for a bit.

Personally I would just get the original Crysis, Warhead runs better and has slightly better visuals....but it plays a lot more arcade like compared to the first. Crysis is better as a slower paced tactical game in my opinion.
Thanks, I guess I'll get the package for the hell of it. Warhead is only ten bucks more, so it's not much fo a loss.
Damn, Crusis keeps crashing on me! I even installed the 1.2 patch. Is there a work around or am I basically screwed?

While I hate the GPU, it runs the program moderately well and then it just crashes after a few minutes of ingame play. Is it probably an error with the 460 drivers? (And yes, the drivers are up to date)
Try lowering the settings, and if that doesn't work, re-install. You should be able to run it just fine. Did you patch from 1-1.1-1.2 or 1-1.2?
I jumped from the first version to 1.2, but I left 1.21 alone because it was apparently for multiplayer bugs. I'll install 1.1 and up, in order, to be sure.

I went to Fry's today so I decided to get the retail version of it while I was picking up the 460. Apparently stores don't sell 5850's. :(
Well, I installed the patches and now the plane in the beginning sequence doesn't even show up, and M&KB imputs don't even register. Looks like I'll have to redo the install. -.-
frys in renton, wa carries 5850's.I went to Fry's today so I decided to get the retail version of it while I was picking up the 460. Apparently stores don't sell 5850's. :(

None down here in Dallas, even Best Buy doesn't carry then in their stores. Ah well.
Anyway, I'm still getting crashes (it's at the part when you are taught to melee), so I'll just sit on my hands until new drivers are released.

err wow. ive had the game for over a year, the box copy, and it has ran fine for me. somethins up with your computer. its not your drivers.
I checked online and it's basically a problem with Windows 7 64 bit (the one game that hates it, I suppose). XP and vista compatibility modes don't work for me either. Nothing's overheating, my PSU is fine and everything is up to date.
I did overclock my card to these specifications:
Core clock: 725 MHz
Memory clock: 1875 MHz
Shader clock: 1450 MHz
I think these are in acceptable bound sbecause I can play BC2 and Stalker: CoP with no issues, but a bit of lag here and there. I thinka pplying a no-dvd crack should fix it up, but I'll find another way before resorting to somethng "illegal" (even though I own the game >_>).
dude im also running windows 7 64bit, i know alot of people who play it and it works fine with it. i ran it with vista 64 bit a while ago tooI checked online and it's basically a problem with Windows 7 64 bit (the one game that hates it, I suppose). I don't know man, it just hates to get past that one part of the first chapter. I'll fiddle with it for a bit (the game that is) and see what happens.
I run all 3 flawlessly on W7 Home Premium 64 bit, so it can't be that.I checked online and it's basically a problem with Windows 7 64 bit (the one game that hates it, I suppose).
