Have almost a two year old Alienware, and having problems running the demo. I know that I don't own vista, and that I don't have a brand new vid card, but I cannot believe that I can only run this stupid game on the lowest settings. Sorry but that isgarbage. I made sure that I got the most recent drivers for my vid card and sound car, but if i even attempt to run at a higher settings i get the kind of chop that would associate with a computer twice it's age. Any suggestions? If this is just a problem with the demo, that is fine, but if I have to fork over a bunch of money just to look at this game, then I am hereby giving up PC gaming forever

Don't worry it's only a "Demo".

If this is just a problem with the demo, that is fine, but if I have to fork over a bunch of money just to look at this game, then I am hereby giving up PC gaming forevermpchitown

If your mind only knows one path(Crysis),then leave,i don't consider thou a "Pc" user anymore.

If you are that easy to scare away, you were never a pc gamer in the first place. Good riddance.

Oh yeah, and it is your fault you paid that much for a computer and felt the urge to get an Alienware.

Please, write up your frustration and e-mail it to AlienWare. It would look great on their "Testmionals" section of their website :D

Crysis is just one of those games with high system requirements. it's like SupCom. just because it had high requirements doesn't mean every game will.

its your P4 in most cases. your required to have a dual Core cpu or atleast 512MB of video ram to run the high settings. crysis was meant for highend pcs. and if you bought yours back in 2005, its dated. thats generally how PC gaming goes. you must upgrade your rig. don't be upset tho. its mostly just eye candy, crysis in the lower resolution still puts most pc games to shame. so really it is your computer and you should of expected it to happen because you have a single core 3.0ghz P4 and p4's have been around for awhile. i suggest you get awhole new computer with pci express and maybe even intel duo core processor. and just install the ram out of your computer that you already have unless its generic aftermarket stuff. and as far as vista goes, your not missing out because vista is still buggy. xp still is alot more stable.

Dell as well. You'd be much better off building your own PC from scratch. As for the TC, get over yourself and don't let the door hit your ass on your way out.

Raincheck: Alienwares suck. Especially 2-year old Alienwares. My computer Is most likely better than a 2 year old Alienware computer, and I only paid $600 for mine, total.

And yeah I had problems running the demo too, but not too much.

Well thats the problem with PC games

You need to upgrade your PC every while to be able to enjoy them at high settings

If you can not stand it or you do not have money for PC upgrades then go buy yourself a console

Trouble solved...

Anyone think that we'll see Crysis ported to the Wii?

...

hehe, just kidding. Bad joke... *sigh, back to wishing I didn't have better things to spend my hard earned $ on than hardware that is constantly driven back to the stone age, thanks to an overzealous market which craves constant graphical and technical upgrades over sustainability. PC Gaming, long live your lack of long livability.

Ok...

1.) You actually bought an AlienWare PC which i imagine set you back a few thousand or more when you could of bought parts and built a similar if not better PC for cheaper. Thats your first mistake lol.

2.) You knew Crysis was going to be a system hog if you didn't then what rock were you living under for like the past year lol? this game is a revolutionary game in terms of graphics and utilising the current technology to its fullest and beyond. Crytek never stated this game was going to be a highly optimised game that everyone can run on their PC's, they said that your going to need a high end system with top of the range hardware.

3.) You'r chucking in the towel on PC gaming because you can't run this one game on anything other than medium settings? Then wtf is the point in owning or buying an Alienware PC in the first place lol. There's plenty of good games coming out on the PC soon other than Crysis and you should be able to play Crysis on medium settings just fine with your PC. Just go into the settings and tweak a few options till it runs more smooth.

4.) You'r not the only person to be experiencing this feeling of rejection because you can't run Crysis at the highest possible settings. Hundreds if not thousands of people are in the same situation, including me, so don't think your alone and experiencing something no one else can. If you want i could hug you to make you feel better, would you like a hug? lol!
