Ok heres the low down.

Crysis does not have fluid simulation! Flowing rivers and tidal waves are gone from the game. And in the new video when its snowing outside the guy walks into a building and snow is still falling through the walls. Hopefully they'll fix this problem even though its minor. Heres a quote "Cryengine 2 does not support dynamic liquid, its all scripted and static. Taowolf51" But its still going to be a good game but stranglehold does seem to have the edge in physics and destruction (maybe graphics too but thats only because the levels are so much smaller).

where did you hear or read this??? im just wondering because even some of the lower bugdget games i have seem to have fluid simulation that is at least somewhat well done. it makes no sense to me why they would leeave that out of the game.

Don't judge Crysis by what other people say. When the demo arrives, it will hopefully solve your question. The game may still be in development;after all it will come out two months from now.

I'm just going to say we can't really tell until the game comes out (or more likely the demo). With all the hype surrounding it I don't see how Crysis will live up to it, and it seems like it's Doom3, Oblivion, (insert any other heavily hyped game) all over again.

Will Crysis under deliever?? probably

Will Crysis suck?? probably not.

XaosII

you'd be surprised how many people out there hyping for the game see nothing but the technology of the engine. i've met people who call themselves fans but didn't know the game would feature alien enemies.

clearly, it's not the single solo standard to judge Crysis (IF the game delivers; and i don't think so )....but how many people really realize that even when they are hyping for the game?

Now for my "nerdy" phase.
A fluid is a gas or a liquid, so saying that there isn't gas moving is wrong.

But who cares if there isn't any water flowing simulation. It just take one more thing out of the CPU/GPU's work.

Because it's probably a bunch of mumbo-jumbo that he made up. From the videos I seen from gametrailers.com..the water looked awesome and even the swimming. So allot of what he's alleging seems unfounded.

I'm guessing they removed it during the optimization phase when they realised that it was too much of a system hog. Better out than in , imo.

don't really care much about eye candy...as long as i can play the game at least at mid detail settings i'm fine...whats important to me is that the AI has to be smart.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought that there would be some mention of the AI that ranges from psychic to stupid.

In the demo I've played they will just launch a flare randomly to call in reinforcements even when they haven't spotted you. You can here the guards calling out for someone to show themselves when they didn't even get a glimpse of me. Another strange bit was when I had new the sleeper bullets to take a guy down. Now I discovered that I could use my fists to belt him while he was asleep etc so I shot him with my silenced pistol. I crept away but suddenly turned around after being shot at. Guess who woke up?

If they put tidal waves in the game, then you are saying that would make it a better game. Or are you just saying it will be a better looking game. I'm confused by your topic what your complaining about.

To me Half Life 2 is that

Crysis on the other is awesome

Its probably because I prefer gameplay over story and presentation

biggest_loser

They never do that. If they call for reinforcements, it's because you caused some kind of a ruckus (even as simple as one of them seeing you for a second). I know what you mean; I've thought the same thing at first before, but after it happened a few times I realized something minor was happening that gave me away.

You can here the guards calling out for someone to show themselves when they didn't even get a glimpse of me.

biggest_loser

Again, they knew you were around somehow. They don't necessarily have to see you, just know that there's an intruder around.

Another strange bit was when I had new the sleeper bullets to take a guy down. Now I discovered that I could use my fists to belt him while he was asleep etc so I shot him with my silenced pistol. I crept away but suddenly turned around after being shot at. Guess who woke up?

biggest_loser

I don't understand what the problem is. Are you complaining that he woke up? The tranqs only work for about a minute-minute and a half (which makes sense, anymore and it would an overpowered tool, moreso than the cloak). Are you complaining that he wasn't dead? You have to actually shoot him until he's dead, he doesn't just die from one shot (barring headshots) just because he's unconscious (tip: you know he's dead when he lets go of his gun).

Of course, Crysis's AI is not without its quirks, make no mistake. And yeah, there are some areas where they have downright flaws that Crytek shouldn't have let exist (the whole thing of Koreans not being able to swim yet they'll try to find you in the water and subsequently drown is pretty damn stupid). But when you look past some of these things, the AI performs on levels beyond every other game before it.

The pistol isn't very powerful while silenced, it's meant for close range headshots. What's "sus?"

Crysis was great up until the aliens. Being a dude in a supersuit against Korean regulars was fun, the aliens turn you back into being a mortal and the gameplay turns into an ordinary shooter after that. More conventional combat good, aliens, bad.

Visually I had a better time with Gears of War than Crysis on my PC. Hell visually I had a better time with Team fortress 2 then Crysis on my PC for 2007. I had more awe moments playing campaign mode in G.R.A.W on xbox 360 rathen then Crysis on my PC.

Later down the line when there's hardware that can really utlize Crysis considering the future updates for the game maybe I will be impressed by the visuals.

I tip my hat for those that are comfortable with running Crysis at them speeds.

IMO I found the aliens gave a change of pace. Although you should remind yourself that it's because of the aliens that there are Koreans.

I found the game enjoyable from start to finish. Far more the halo3 or COD4, but i enjoy playing delta with the open design gameplay. Sure it went linaer at the end but it was still a blast, i think people really just expected to much from the start.

no just the community in general, i see tons of messages about how crysis is not what they thought it we be and how it should have been this or that but when it comes down to it the game is great yet ppl just try to find ways to bring it down. AI: Its smart consider the size of the map, it cant be compared to others because most shooters are corridor based turkey shooters. Graphics: grab some custom configs and it only gets better. Gameplay: open design gameplay where you aint lead by the hand on how to tackle situations that are given to you, barring the last 4 levels. overall it does everything it needed to and now its just tweaks

Crysis is terrible! I was anticipating this game more than any other, the trailers looked amazing, the dynamic gameplay seemed new and innovative, but when I got the beta, I thought, this is terribly glitchy, and quite boring. I told myself, it is just the beta, and it would be fixed. Then I got the demo and I had the same disappointed feeling, and the graphics, though quite nice, seemed to be not as good as what the trailers had offered. Once again I just told myself that it is just a demo and it would likely be fixed. So I bought the full game and once again I was disappointed.

The moral of the story is EA sucks. Just kidding.

Any ways I am very disappointed in Crysis and I am hoping Far Cry 2 doesn't end up as bad as this. By the way the anti cheat system is terrible, PB sucks and Crysis made everything stored on the client instead of the server, so there are way to many hackers out there and MP is ruined. Plus there is no TDM!

I wouldn't say it sucks - there are some good things about it - but it just isn't as great to me at least as some people say.

You are right about the graphics - they were really toned down compared to what was shown in the videos particularly the foilage...

The video card developers mostly. There's always some geek who'll pay a few extra hundred dollars more for a video card that has features no game supports. People pay extra for a card that gives them 89 frames per second over 87 frames per second when most people can't tell any difference after 48 so go figure.

ok here's my gripes:

Could continually shoot out the same window and the glass would keep breaking!???

once was continually shooting a Korean in the head without him taking any damage!

Koreans arm sticking through a wall which I was able to shoot and injure.

Amazing nano suit which seems to offer you less protection against bullets than Korean's have in their standard uniforms.

Bullets that kill you underwater no matter how deep you swim (we've all seen myth busters)

For me COD4 and STALKER look a lot better than Crysis.

Silly TAC cannon that could only lock onto a target when the game wanted you to.

Here's the good bits:

got to fly one of those jet plane thingies.

the wildlife - which only seems to be near the start, and you can't pick up say a bird and put it down without killing it :(

ah, waterfalls look good.

fights are good, much better than simple cardboard pop up sideshow shooting gallery of COD4 (which stills rocks)

Bioshock looks better than this to me and has a more imaginative style.

You might want to also mention that the AI is psychic at times. Like the boat gunner who can see you all the way ontop of the cliff. It takes too many bullets to kill the soldiers and they seem too resiliant to damage!

Amazing nano suit which seems to offer you less protection against bullets than Korean's have in their standard uniforms. It offers you less protection if you aren't using maximum armor. Also, when a group of Koreans are attacking you on Delta, don't expect the suit to save you when you're out in the open.

Bullets that kill you underwater no matter how deep you swim (we've all seen myth busters)

For me COD4 and STALKER look a lot better than Crysis. That clearly shows that you're either in denial, or just have too weak of a graphics card to get Crysis going on high quality.

Silly TAC cannon that could only lock onto a target when the game wanted you to. Could you imagine what would happen if that wasn't the case? You wouldn't survive from the TAC cannon cause you're too close to impact.

Most of the things you have listed on the bad side is something that I very, very rarely had experienced as well as many others. Perhaps you have hardware issues?
