I run Crysis at 1024X768@medium and get 34.9 with the specs in my sig. You should get better FPS than that on medium at 1024X768. If you can run it at 1280X1024 on high, more power to you but if your frame rates aren't above 35FPS at 1280X1024, don't be too shy to back down on the rez and quality.
you will be able to play it with some settings at medium (put shaders and shadows medium) some at high you could pull an average 30fps at 1280x1024 with intensive scenes at low 20's (i play it all high at the slightly faster 8800gt with about 30fps average)
Crysis will run but with AA turned off. Dont worry at resolutions above 1024 you'll not need it that much. You should be able to play it all other settings set to high at ~35 FPS (not too good but not too bad either). You wont face problem playing the game unless you play online.

What happens if he plays it online? I've played it online but haven't benchmarked it. It runs smoother than the single player, but then I haven't had to deal with multiple alien flying monsters attacking me and everyone else, as in the single player.
