Hey everybody.. I bought my 8800 GT for a a copule of months ago but its not performing like i should do.

I have the newest driver 179.19.. i had also tried many others but without a diference.. and all the other driver is also up to date

The problem is that in new games as crysis, assasins creed, cod 4, frontlines duel of war, grid and need for speed pro street do i get a VERY low framerate.

Specs:

Biostar 520-A2

AMD athlon x2 4800+ brisbane 2.5 ghz

2 GB ddr2 667 mhz

Zotac 8800 GT 512 mb factory overclocked (only core clock to 660 mhz) accelero s1 rev.2 idle 35 full load 45 max.

Psu 650 watts qtech 25 amps on the 12+ volt

lets start:

crysis 1440x900, high and no aa or af Min. 5 fps/Avg. 10-15 fps/Max. 25 fps.. its not the benchmark its in game. patch 1.2

Assasins creed 1440x900, maxed out, and no aa or af Min. 15 fps/Avg. 20-25 fps/Max. 35 fps. also pacthed

Cod4 1440x900, maxed out, and 4x aa, full af (16af) Min. 25 fps/Avg. 35-40 fps/ Max. 50 fps. patch 1.7

Frontlines fuel of war 1440x900, maxed out and no aa or af Min. 10 fps/Avg. 20 fps/Max. 30 fps. also patched

Grid 1440x900, maxed out and no aa or af Min. 15 fps/Avg. 25 fps/ Max 35 fps. I dont thinked its patched

Need for speed pro street 1440x900, maxed out and no aa or af Min. 25 fps/Avg. 35 fps/Max. 50 fps. Maybe its pacthed.

all those results is terrible my 8600 GT scored alot better for example in crysis with my 8600 gt i got Avg. 15 fps with same res. and all on high a little bit better than the 8800 GT.

when i look at videos on youtube i see someone who gets better score with fraps recording..

And it could not be overheating problem because of my good cooling..

Its not the processor because many others can run the game with a 3800+ x2.

and the motherboard should ot be the problem because it has a pci-express x16 slot.

Sorry for my bad english

Plz help me i really want that my gfx will perform as it should do :(

well first off i recommend the obvious. tack another gig of ram into your computer, then i have to ask something along the lines of "what other programs are you running the background that might be hogging up your system resources?" then another question such as "are you sure you don't have a virus/spyware that might be eating your system resources?" theres really a LOT of things it could be. is 1440x900 your monitors native resolution? (mine is too, but its something i have to ask because if your native res is lower or higher that can affect it) also are you running on vista or xp? if on vista dx9 or dx10?

I disagree. On XP, he really won't need it for games, and it'll disable dual-channel mode if he's running it already.

i can tell you 95% sure what it is because i had this exact problem.

it sounds like a memory fault on your card which some of the cards had when they were made. its a common problem with the 8800gt and i even had it on 2 cards.

the only way to solve it is to a) RMA it back to where you bought it from and get a new card which will solve the problem or b) just buy a new one :)

you will only have to wait about 1-2 weeks for the RMA. so do that and you will be happy again :)

hope this helped

Dont buy more RAM. You dont need it. I have 2 gigs and am fine. If I can play an 80x80 map on supreme commander with two gigs you should be fine too

the extra gig was really just a suggestion mainly for if he was a vista user. avg is great, i use it as well. as someone else said it might be a problem with the card.
