something a lot of people forget when checking out gameplay videos is that those videos are made to market the game, they are always running at full max settings - often on hardware thatbarely 5% of the gaming population has (4gb ram, 8800gtx sli, etc)

most games scale down nice, they just look like ass (relatively speaking)- these specs don't surprise me, just rememeber that when you're playing it with 1gb ram and a 7800gtx, you won't be playing a game that looks like the videos

and when you're playing it with 2gb ram and a single 8800gts, in dx10, you'll probably have framerate issues

Very reasonable. Now what are the specs needed to run it at a consistent framerate with everything turned on?

I think it will be much higher than that to be honest. I mean look at Colin McRae DIRT's recommended requirements: Intel Core 2 duo @ 2.66ghz. 2gb RAM, Geforce 8800. JUST FOR RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS! and DIRTS been out for a lil while now so i reckon it'll be at least the same/similar requirements for crysis.

'The following specs are estimates made by myself based on the above mentioned information and other sources. These estimates are NOT official - but are based on official information. '

Old and those are just speculated requirements. Read the date, June 11. The official System Requirements are supposed to be released in mid-September.

Exactly. Look, I have Bioshock for the PC and the 360. The PC version not only looks amazing, but due to my computer runs at a faster framerate with ease (in DX10 mind you). The reason for this is, this game was written well for the PC, unlike DiRT which is known for being an extremely unoptimized game.

Now, mix in the fact that Crysis is a PC-only game... and you should have some sort of an idea how bad of a comparison you have just made.

Far Cry was one of the most scalable games ever, it wouldn't surprise me of Crysis was also.
