I just got Crysis Warhead and i've heared it has problems with Quad Core and maybe 8800GT cards-I have them both.
Anyway, the game is constantly freezing or crashing in random places...can anyone help?

Im not playing in DX10. It is more likely to be and overheating problem but i dont think so for because it has never happened to me before and because i shouldent have any problems running it. I also have a Gamer HUD which tells me that my CPU temp is around 60(which is kinda high...it was 40 when i bought it).
To the guy above me that is expriencing the same problem - do you have a Quad core/8800 GT?
I will be getting a QX9770, I'd pan on getting Crysis, please tell me if it wa actually crashing because of your Quad Core.
You already use DX10? Or is that even out yet...
I'm getting the same problem sometimes mate, how would i go from DX10 mode to DX9? If that was the case of course.

Go to the games explorer from the start button and rigth-click the shortcut of Crysis, then select PlayDX9
Or right-click on your Crysis launch icon on the Bin32 folder, select properties, and one blank space after the last character in the target box, add -DX9. For example, Crysis.exe -DX9

I'm using a QX9775, 8GB of RAM and a SLI setup and crysis never give me any problems, neither warhead, maybe you are using outdated drivers for your GPU, or you have to many applications running on the background, that could cause the crashes too.
It crashes for me too its not your quad core or Vista. Because Im running Xp. This game is so buggy its worse then the first one random loading crashes changing settings ingame sometimes crashes the game. SLI performance is poor some sections it runs like butter and then it crwals for no reason. Overall I would rate this game a 6.5-7 out of 10. Some new things but it skips to much.04dcarraher
I have 2 gigs of ram...
I just hope they fix those bugs...
Honestly, it looks just like the previous Crysis. Not such a big loss.

It crashed only once but freezed 3 times(out of three tries). I dont think running too much applications is the problem because ive never had problems with Crysis and it should suppoaebly be more heavy on the system.
Yeah DX10 comes with Vista. But i wouldn't count on Crysis running 'perfect' on any system, its a VERY demanding game, i have more than enough to run very high, but due to the engine, i can only play on high without my FPS messing up and the game lagging. It can be a number of reasons, but im guessing it's the game. But i'm no expert... Mine stopped crashing after a re-install though.Tommoz0r
Re-installations you say...
It is freezing and crashing because it needs a patch!bungie93my doesn't freeze nor crash....but yes it needs an optimzation ptach, i have to run it in dx9 to get 30+fps, in dx10 i get roughly 20 frames and there really isn't any graphical difference that i can see when playing.
On the subject, anyone know of an official support page for this game?
Maybe someone has a work around for the damn crashing at checkpoints?
I'm running on
Intel DC 2.8ghz, 8800gt 512mb, 4GB ram, Nforce 610I MB.
It seems like Crytek has gotten too big too fast, and is starting to turn into another company that releases and forgets. Its hard to believe that they have allready given up on Crysis support. I doubt I will buy any more games on there tech after Crysis and this mess. If they don't want to bother with supporting their games, then they should just work on the engine and leave game making to good companies like Criterion Games. Now THEY know how to support there buyers, and deserve my money(which they will get the moment Burnout is release on PC).
