IMO, both games are more focused on their respective singleplayer campaigns. I dunno a lot about FC2, since it's not out yet. But I can tell you that it is significantly different than the original, look at the videos for more details.
Crysis Warhead is a fun ride from start to finish. It looks great, plays extremely well, it addresses the mistakes that the original Crysis had, and it runs even better than Crysis. It is kind of short, I finished it on 8 hours(I'm probably not that good, since I've heard some finishing it in 4 hours) on my first playtime.
But then again you get Crysis Wars, a significant improvement upon the original Crysis' mediocre multiplayer.
Far Cry 2 is looking good though, so you might wanna watch for the reviews first.
This is a hard question to answer because, while we know just how good Warhead is (it's awesome), we can only speculate on the quality of Far Cry 2.
Far Cry 2 looks great, and from what I've read, it'll be somewhere up to ten times the length of Warhead for a single play versus a single play, but a lack of quality would undermine the length of the game - possibly to such an extent that the game is not worth finishing.
I can tell you this much - if you are not a gambling man, get Warhead. It's an amazing game and if you enjoyed the Crysis demo, you will love Warhead. Far Cry 2 is a coin toss; it could easily go either way, and even if it turns out to be a good or even great game, it won't necessarily be a better experience and/or better value than Warhead.
Wait until after Far Cry 2 is out and check for player feedback before making your decision, or if you trust commercial reviews, check gamerankings.com. Far Cry 2 has already scored a 94% from PC Gamer UK, but you should know that that same magazine also gave Crysis Warhead a 60%, which is bang out of order.
