Well having finished both. Yes Juarez has some nice models but overall Crysis is FAR better looking. The relatively small levels of Juarez, frequent texture pop-in and pretty same-y area's.. yeah, Crysis is superior.GenTom
yes that's what i was thinking , crysis is a winner by neture it's far better graphic wise let alone other aspects like the dynamic game play and other stuff
I still think Crysis looks better, but I admit CoJ looks great as well. There are other considerations other than looks alone, though. Having not played CoJ2, can someone answer these for me?
1) Does CoJ have fully destructible buildings/trees/objects?
2) How big are the levels in comparison between the two? (ie draw distance, actual level size, ect)
3) Does CoJ have advanced physics?
4) Does CoJ have advanced effects like motion blur, depth of field, heat effects, and advanced particle effects?
5) What kind of AI does CoJ have?
To me part of the reason Crysis is such a technical marval is not only it's great looks, but the nuts and bolts within too. For a game that looks as good as Crysis it also utilizes some very advanced technologies. Most games either are advanced in the graphics department but lack in others (like Call of Duty 4).

1)no
2)crysis have bigger levels , bigger drawing distance
3)no
4)coj have good blur effects and othe effects ,,, but cysis have more and better effects
5) the AI of coj is good ,,, but not as dynamic and excaiting as crysis
no wonder crysis always a winner
At least the ai in coj is believable, the ai in crysis behaves....weird.dakan45
what !!! crysis AI is one of the best i ever saw , to the point where i don't think about the AI when i'm playing crysis , i just think about the enemys as real people , this is how great the AI in crysis !!!!!!! , while in other games i just learn the AI of the enemys and then predict thier every move
Crysis I don`t know just like it maybe because I can say to my friends my pc can run it.Yours can`t get a new one loser.
I briefly started a game of COJ: BiB, so I certainly haven't seen all it has to offer, but I'd have to give the visuals to C-Dub.
The style changed slightly, and some people may prefer Crysis original over Warhead, however, Warhead is still extremely gorgeous.
Crysis looks a lot better than COJ BiB, texture poppin' while in the free roam is unnaceptable, it really puts down the experience, but Chrome Engine is really beautiful, nice lightning effects. About Crysis AI, it got better in the second game, because on the first one, that thing cheated on me.call of juarez runs so much better, but optimization aside crysis warhead looks quite a bit better.

Don't compare Cry Engine 2 with Unreal Engine 3 >_>. Crysis doesn't look better, it looks MUCH better than CoJ, just look at anything except the character models and compare it to Crysis, not screenshots, compare them yourself. It makes me puke how random it is, quality wise, literally, it's by far the most extreme UE3 game, in a bad way, there are extremely good things like the models and a few textures, but there are also extremely bad things, the abnormal use of blur (no it doesn't make it look better, I usually like blur, but this is far above my standards), most textures, the movement feels weird also the game is too static, lots of things happen (like many enemies) but at the same time nothing happens (other than you, allies, enemies, the game is dead).Very important thing, CoJ:BIB is 2~3 times better performance than Crysis & Warhead. COJ:BIB is very very optimized. Crysis & Warhead are not. Top graphics, but poor performance.

Good to know then :P I thought it was UE 3 since it's exactly like it and suffers from the same problems. Thanks, I'll avoid this engine, since even UE 3 is hard to put up with, after so many games that use it. We don't need another engine like it.Please Log In to post.
