crysis- why did the americans invade

im playing crysis through and im at the point where they americans have invaded and your going to the tank depot but i still don't really understand why the americans have invaded as they don't yet know at the time of invasion that the koreans have alien tech that there hiding well at least i think they don't so why did they invade and plz give real reason not some stupid joke about how they invaded cause they are americanshumpas

its not really a joke, americans (and im american) are bullies... we have bases all over the world in all sorts of countries, what other countries have bases on american soil????????? see.

but as far as the game goes, im not sure..

All comes back to the distress signal from the archeologists, I think. When it was said that something was found and that "the North Koreans don't know what they're dealing with," as well as "this discovery could change the future of the planet," I'm sure the US government took that pretty seriously. Since the NK's are a nuclear superpower and major threat to the rest of the world in Crysis's timeline, it makes sense that the US would want to take every measure possible to make sure they don't get their hands on such a discovery, and to find out for themselves what it is.

Quite frankly I didn't really understand that myself, if it was for the archeologists then wouldn't it be more subtile and safe to send in some Navy seals rather then a good bunch of the US army?

I always figured it was never fully explained but regarded that America did in NK what it did in Iraq, invaded without just cause and their just lucky the island full of NK military also happens to be the home of some alien species....

They did go for safe and subtle - to begin with. They sent in the five man Delta Force unit, but things escalated and it became clear the NKs had a major military presence on the island, and the US military responded.

Isn't it odvious? The navy was hearing in on your mission the entire time, which turned out to be a way more then just rescue.. This new threat I am sure was explained in full to the navy by Profit, which they thought it would be best to invade.

It's always "my opponent is going to do this," and "my opponent did that that one time," and hardly ever "I'm going to do such and such." obama has good ideas, but the public will turn him into what he is not... not to mention the people will view this "great day in age" as something in which it is not.

but back on topic. i would really like to play this game, but im not gonna begin to try to, until i get atleast one overclocked gtx 280 in my system, and maybe the intel I7 with some ddr3 ram, might be a year or so... but when i play it, ill be able to play it max no problem. especially if i have gtx280 in SLI or even tri sli.

dude don't be a fool like the rest who seem to think u nead a $2000 gaming system to play no u don't and first off ddr 2 does better then ddr 3 right now are just as gd also i7 has been proven in earyly benchmarks not to provide any performance increase in game even intel said it wouldn't as its not designed to. youll be able to play on a ati 4850 with decent enought fps and especialy on warhead i found myself turning up the setttings and res on warhead other crysis and still getting more fps humpas

and i dont really care for ati.. though for that i will be called a fanboy, but im just not an ati fan, or amd for that matter, just i am stuck with my processor and mobo, until i get a new one, and until they come down in price, and i mean for a good one.. then im stuck.

Oh I've only started playing the game but I remember when Crysis was announced they said because of the alien invasion it would bring both forces together.

fair enougth however its hard to compare two different types of ram but ddr 3 isn't outperforming ddr2 right now latencys are to high however in some cases it is ill admit but not by leaps are bounds when it comes to ddr3 just wait for latencys to drop and if u wanna play close to full potential then your gona be waiting well after core i7 that is if u mean u wanna play 2560*1600 very high dx 10 16aa 16af if this is what u mean by full potential at 60fps a long time indeed

it would not be wise to go with ddr3 or get an i7 at launch i totally agree on that, so i agree with you 100%, just once i get a gtx280, then ill try crysis, at high settings at hopefully 2xAA, at 50-60 fps. ill be happy with that, but im not gonna try crysis now.

just got my monitor today actually nice, 22" LG 1680x1050, 2ms response time, and 10 thousand to one contrast ration :P

Lach0121 actually your wrong... DDR2 DOES outperform DDR3. Unless your buying the rediculous 400$ for 2 1gig sticks your not gonna be better than top end DDR2 .... the c.a.s. latencies on DDR3 are so absurdly high the only gain over DDR2 at this point is heavy up and down speeds ....burst caching is WAY slower on DDR3 ... and since games are all using the burst cache method ya .... need to learn about actual PC system specs before saying stuff like that.....ColdfireTrilogy

mm after they did not find the archaeologists and the only hostage they found told them that something is going on they called the nearest fleet and since prphet was abducted and still no hostages found the recon mission has been terminated and their only option was to start a full scale assault against the island defences (assault level) so they can move in the valley (onslaught, tanks level) and reach the mine where the hostages probably located and eliminate the general after they investigate the area in order to find what happen, in other words since stealth mission is gone to hell the only option us had is to launch a full scale assault, (its no longer a stealth mission, north koreans are alerted) their only option is to push forward, after prophet was thought K.I.A. the only option was to abort but nomad, could complete the objective by extracting the archaeologists form the excavation site so he moved in and the whole island was alerted by wha happen (the freezing i mean) so general show that in screen with Helena and send reinforcements to the excavation site, the island is alerted 2 operatives left koreans got nano technology, now nomad and psycho are operatives not warmachines they cant fight a war by their selfs so only one resort left, LAUNCH A FULL SCALE ASSAULT and clear that island apart find whats going on and evacuate the hostages, or it will be better to simply run away while an entire fleet is near!

ps Major Strickland is a idiot, and about being Americans, the game is not made in us blame the ones who made it for the Blockbuster story inconvinuses!

if u run crysis warhead in dx 9 u get big performance gain because of optimization and u can use enthusiast settings which is basicvaly very high in dx 9 u wont actualy notice the difference between that and 10 unless u go looking closely adn if u check what people are running warhead like on gtx 280's youll find they are playing 1680*1050 all enthusiast with like 35-40 fps average humpas

plenty of other good games out there that you can play, that wont break your bank, TRYING to play anywhere close to full potential..

like silent hill 5.
