Wow, GameSpot users are so amazing.
Crysis will run FINE on a single-core Pentium 4 3.06GHz with HT.

Yeah it should run just fine. Pentium 4 CPUs are very flexible so theres no telling what you can run really, they tend to surprise you so I don't know why everyone talkes so bad about them.
If you have a decent video card, I think you may be able to run Crysis on low settings. Your C.P.U. should be fine, but low R.A.M. may hinder preformance.roulettethedogAlright that Pentium isn't a 4 year old Athlon XP or something like that. So as long as he has good gpu (X1950XT, 8800GTs), he will more than likely pull off high settings just fine, but yeah just step that ram up to 2 gigs and put in a good video card and Crysis should run great.
We don't know.[QUOTE="el_carl"][QUOTE="death1505921"]What about a pentium 4, 2.8?JSDempsey
has to be 2.8 ghz if it is a single core. Thats from all the requirements i have seen. It is really recommended to have a dual core though.
It doesn't need to be 2.8ghz, it's merely based on ratings.trust me, crysis will not run on a pentium 4.
I was barely able to power Battlefield2 on my old P4 system.
It would crash half the time it loaded a map
[QUOTE="batistafan99"]It'll run fine. I remember Crytek was maxing out Crysis with a single core CPULouieV13Thats stupid. And it will run on a pent 4 there not useless quite yet. Tho they are starting to show age.
what's stupid? the scalability of Crysis?

No the fact its not built on a duel core :( I mean if it works on singles that cool...I used to have a 1.6ghz pent 4 with a 6200 and I ran bf2 fine at low/med lol you lie friendtrust me, crysis will not run on a pentium 4.

You probably had a POS video card.
these were the specsCPU: 2.8 Ghz P4
RAM: 512MB DDR2400
Video card: Radeon X300SE
yeah, it was that bad:(
instead of calling it an optiplex GX280, you could call it dell POS 280
