If you enjoyed the demo despite the lower settings, then you will enjoy the full game as well.JP_RussellSeconded.
Yes, Crysis was....bland. It wasn't awful, but I could not get through the whole game. I had the game on mostly max, so a lack of eye candy wasn't the problem. A lack of believability was a problem. The voice acting is awful. The AI is absolutely RETARDED. The game on Delta difficulty is easier than butter. The cloak suit makes the game a cake walk. The strength function is useless minus the parts where they force you to high jump. The game is just Meh. Get COD4 or Witcher for a game that doesn't make you sad when you look at the 49.99 deduction in your account.Plague27
Every point you raised is something he would have experienced in the demo. Since he likes what he's played in the demo, your points are thus moot.
The only person who has raised a viable and arguable point as to a circumstance in which the TC shouldn't get the game is Swiftstrike.

That(and the US carrier ship doors) is the only time you are required to use it but it is far from useless. Str mode is a lot of fun when you demolish buildings. Very usefull when a chopper is chasing you and you need to make a door really quickly to get into cover. Also nothing like punching in a roof onto unsuspecting Koreans.

The strength also reduces recoil, and much more accurate sniping. The strength I'd say is the most useful actually....
The increased armor is the most useless, it dies off in 1 shot......
Yes. Crysis is fun as hell, even without the eye-candy. It's definitely worth the purchase if you enjoyed the demo - it only gets better and better. Or, you can wait and upgrade your system to experience some of the graphical beauty. I'm running it on Very High and it leaves me in a constant state of awe, which only adds to the experience. But it's still worth it, even without the graphics.
My shortest post ever!
NO!

Another one who's obviously saying no because they didn't like the game, and not because they liked the demo but not the full game. He already stated he enjoyed the demo and with low graphics settings to boot. If there is a reason with that in mind that you think he wouldn't think it is worth it that isn't applicable in the demo, then state that reason, don't just say "no."

Don't listen to this guy, he's got a lot of parts in his post (mainly strength mode and AI, and voice acting is great damnit! what game are you playing? The Witcher's wasn't any better) clearly showing that he doesn't know how to use crysis to it's full potential, I'm not going to go into detail as to why and how, if he want's to know that bad he can message me, but basically, get it at Fry's, it's 40 dollars, and even if this game was 50 when I got it, I wouldn't have cared cuz this game was GREAT!
I played 1 part of it on Low settings and hell, it looked fantastic, of course once you see High settings you don't wanna go back, but I remember I played the game for a long time, and my proccessor needed a break, but I refused to give it one, so I just put the game on Low settings, and kept on going, but basically, it's worth it, graphics aren't the main selling point in this game, unlike contrary belief.
Yeah Crysis only has great graphics. It's A.I, is average, gameplay isn't as good as Halo 3 and the Multiplayer is lacking. PS3_3DO

how is your petition to bring crysis to consoles ?
Maybe he's PotatoSan's sidekick. :?
Oh bollocks. I have both CoD4 and Crysis (can play both on max) and Crysis is the better one, the dev's spent much more time developing it as well :).
CoD4 is well, scripted ;\, its SP campaign is so short its like trying to gulp down a (really good)espresso, the game has some absolutely awesome moments, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but its the same trail and error gameplay we have seen over and over again.
Then multiplayer is solid, but its like any other good FPS's multiplayer.

seriously that guy spoke lots of rubbish imo as you have nicely put. also crysis AI was miles ahead of cod 4
Forgot to mention that Crysis is starting to get a lot of mods, and this is just the beggining, CoD4 has yet to release Mod tools for it. Crysis gave mod tools before the game came out! (Sandbox Editor lol.)
100000 summed up CoD4's campaign with like, the best analogy I've ever seen for it lol, but yeah, it is well scripted...but it's still heavily scripted. Only IW can pull off scripting that good IMO, but overall, they gotta make a the game a bit more dynamic, I hate it when bad moments are easily preventable and I can't do **** about it!
Multiplayer is good, but look at my most recent blog if you want an overview of the bad stuff you'll find in CoD4's MP, it's great MP though, it's just very consolized.
Crysis isn't consolized worth a damn, yeah I know it's a PC exclusive, but damnit, they kept almost every promise except the graphics bieng photorealistic 100% of the time, but ya know, Crysis and Crytek are way ahead of their time anyway lol. It's like Tesla kinda of...
Crysis is absolutely super definitely worth it without the graphics. And let me be clear here, I don't use the word super without good reason.
Sometimes I find it annoying that it looks as good as it does, people assume that great looking games have no depth, just like they assume good looking people are stupid.
Crysis has an astounding level of depth and breadth in its gameplay. If you enjoyed the demo, you will get a lot out of the full game.
Thanks guys, I figured it was worth it but just wanted to make sure it didn't jump the shark after the portion I got to sample. I'd like to upgrade but sadly it's a laptop, I bought it about 8 months ago and checked every spec but the video card (not normally a pc gamer)so I really shot myself in the foot. I don't mind the graphics even on low, I regularly still play avp2.
Thanks!

Nah, I don't want it now. Crysis isn't that good and to think someone hadsaid it's the best FPS ever? It looks the best but when it comes to gameplay no!

so u change ur mind ! i guess you realized crysis is impossible on console lol
Only thing though is that quite a few of the nice physics are disabled on low. Delivers quite a big blow to the gameplay, but even still, its great.100000
I can run the physics on high in the demo if everything else is on low, I heard the physics is dependant on the cpu?

Unless you have a physics credit card. I don't, which is why I'm running at a steady 20 dollars. Er... FPS, I mean.[QUOTE="100000"]Only thing though is that quite a few of the nice physics are disabled on low. Delivers quite a big blow to the gameplay, but even still, its great.haunt9

Physics is usally ALWAYS dependent on CPU, I still don't see the point in those "Ageai PHYSX" card things...
Sadly my laptop meets all the requirements except for the graphics card so I can't play the demo at anything other than low settings with a low resolution. I enjoyed the demo despite the graphics and was I was wondering if the rest of the game is worth the purchase? haunt9
Personally I really didn't like it. It felt too much like Far Cry, which I did not like at all.

That's the problem with Crysis, everyone is gonna think it's a sequel to Far Cry (first) because of it's name (which I actually think is supposed to mean 'cryogenic crisis', but everyone will think it's just far cry's sequel...as opposed to Far Cry 2.) Second, the first levels of the game will feel like Far Cry, and no one will get to experience the full cinematic experience that Crysis (not very unique, but very well done, and well delivered, and somehow isn't cheesy in the least bit!) story has to offer.
