Hi all, Was wondering if anyone can tell me how I might setup a CS: Source server and restrict the use of auto-snipers on it. My housemates are constantly just running around with these and it's boring. Any help would be cool, Thanks
If its only your housemates, then tell them not to.. or just sneak up on them and knife them. They'll soon switch to other weapons.. or do maps that don't benefit sniper rifles.
i think you just need to download Admin scripts like Mani Admin or Rcon, i cant remember what they use now, havnt played CS properly for like a year.
those admin plugins come with help files that allow you to restrict weapons, even alter the health of bots, map cycles, the lot. takes a bit of getting used to but its not too hard.
lol im not sure if you are being serious. but the Auto Sniper is the automatic sniper rifle.. not some kind of hack lol.
its noob coz it scopes in far, and does a fair amount of damage, plus you just sit there pumping away til the enemy dies. doesnt require any skill at all.

I can't work out how to install the mani admin plugin.
I'm just creating servers using the 'create server' option from the menu and I don't run a mod.
Anyone who's done this before have any advice?

sorry i used it such a long time ago BUT. from what i remember, you install the Mani Admin plugin, then yes create a server as per normal, make sure the plugin is running.
you should print off the reademe that has the Admin command list. pretty sure has the console commands needed to do things like block weapons.
have you thought about maybe running a dedicated server from one of the comps? when you do that i think you can block certain weapons.
