Ok, after finding out I can run both the next question is this, which has the better online community/lasting appeal/and all around better fun factor? CSS comes with day of defeat and half life 2 deathmatch for $20 while BF2 comes with all the expansions for $30. With price not being an issue (since if I get CSS I'll get socom confrontation for $10) which do you think is the better overall experience?

For pure gameplay I enjoyed BF2 much more than CSS. For lasting appeal though CSS will have it, since when BF3 comes out many of the BF2 servers will move over to it. Do you like fast paced arena shooters or do you like open shooters with vehicles?

I prefer the more open shooters, though I can easily get into the more fast paced ones if they're done well. I have bad company 2 for the ps3 but EA's servers kick me off every game after 3:30 min of gameplay. Idk if bad company 1 would do the same thing for it or not so I've held off on buying it though it may be a good option for when the psn comes back. I never thought of the BF2 servers jumping over to BF3 when it comes out.

I'm sure thier will still be people playing BF2 when BF3 comes out, just not as many. But yeah if you like open shooter definately get BF2, CSS is fun but its a very fast paced competitive shooter.

I personally would go with BF2. That game was so awesome back in the day and if your computer can handle it, it probably still is a great game. CSS seems to be catered to more hardcore players. I don't know if I have ever done well in a CS match, considering I am always getting head-shotted as soon as I turn a corner or from across the map. It's hard to have fun in a game where you keep dying ever minute. BF2 on the other hand has so many more ways to go about killing someone. There are not only the usual weapons you can carry around, but you also have multiple vehicles (APCs, tanks, jets, helicopters) and huge maps that support up to 64 players. The class system really adds some variety as well, since you can do just as well as a Medic as you can an Assault or Spec Ops class. It is just a massive game.

A warning though: my computer had the "recommended specs" for the game I believe, and it still runs like crap for the most part. I am not sure why, as in the Single Player mode it runs smooth as butter.

Thanks for all the feedback. I decided to go with CSS since I wasn't able to find BF2 and CSS came with day of defeat source, which I'm liking quite a bit. The only problem is sometimes I get a message saying Warning OS Paged Memory Low. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?

I never played CSS, never cared to play it. But I put TONS of hours into BF2 since I bought it back in December of 2006. Still an awesome game, but I've moved on to the Project Reality Mod for it.
