I see most motherboards have built in onboard GPUs but I want to know where I can find some that do not, does it even effect the price? I have my own stand alone GPU so an onboard isn't needed, just wanna know my options more before i buy and upgrade my rig.

Thanks!

Boards without onboard graphics are pretty common, mine doesn't have it. Highend boards usually won't have onboard graphics.

a motherboard with a built in GPU vs a non-integrated GPU has a minmal price difference. However, enthusiast and high-end motherboards are the ones that commonly dont have a built in GPU. If you're looking for a cheap motherboard, then get the one you feel has good features for you for its price - just dont factor in the GPU part. Pricing difference would be minimal with or without a GPU.

sounds good, guess either way i'll be bypassing the onboard if i end up getting one with it.

Thanks for the tips and feedback.

An onboard GPU can also be useful if your main one dies and you need a working computer, unless the motherboard is dead, that is.

look at 890FX or 870 boards. They don't have onboard video but i personally like having it as a backup in case of the card failing

I'd also look at Gigabyte's 870A-UD3.
