Now what i want to know is which do you guys prefer as far as digital distribution? For me Steam was the first place i ever got a digital copy of a game and now i prefer not to have the hardcopy . Also steam has some ridiculous sales like SF4 20 bucks, the Orange Box $10, Relic games 50% off, and so much more. However in noticed the steam catlogue is lacking in some ways, and that sometime shopping at the store or other online places can be a lot cheaper i.e. stalker clear sky is $10 at gamestop. Also D2D which i just started using recently i have noticed some good bundles and even better prices on games like Far Cry 2 or Fear 2. I think i may still prefer steam for now, however that may change

All about Steam. Ignore the beef people give it, its a great service, Automated updates, blazing fast downloads, some weekend deals are just to good to refuse and its all inside one tiny programme that runs quietly in the background, doesnt get in your way at any time and is just a great little programme. So what are you waiting? Full steam ahead!

Problem with D2D is that the games need patches from D2D, unless they changed that. I know there are some they could use the regular retail patches (UT3 for instance). Not really a big deal necessarily, especially for older games that aren't going to be patched again any time soon.

Steam is the same, only for steam it requires steam patches for all non-MMO games. Of course, D2D tends to get the patches available for DL sooner than Steam - Steam seems pretty slow distributing patches for non-valve games. I use Steam, D2D, GoG [for my classic gaming needs], GamersGate, and Impulse - I compare deals and get what I feel is the best idea. Sometimes, when a game is on sale for the same price, I go with the most 'convenient' form me - this isn't usually steam as I would rather be able to run programs offline without the Steam client going [though this hasn't stopped me from building up a collection of 50+ games on Steam]

I prefer steam, some of the weekend deals are great, but I also like the community aspect.
