Let me first off say, i purchased (and still have original boxed copies) of starcraft, brood war, diablo, hellfire, diablo2 and diablo2 lod all when they first came out. suprisingly enough i still have them installed on my PC, everytime there i get a new PC, those games go on there. i dont dive too much into the lore and try to follow it cuz i dont have the time, but i am part of a demographic that has played these games just as they were introduced and became groundbreaking.

With this new generation of games, there is so much hype following these two games and there will be so much negative feedback once anything playable is released its going to be disgusting. When we caught SC2, what did people say? "it looks like a better graphic version of part one". this coming out of the mouth of the same people that were begging Blizzard for something new. As for D3, well lets just say people keep using D3 and WoW in the same sentence and i dont want to discuss that because it is bogus.

If there is anyone else out there that was around in the mid to late ninties that played these games from the beginning please post and give these two games they praise they deserve. There are way too many teens that are so hooked on WoW and the DoW series all they can do is try to compare the games together. ok, sure, Diablo was not the first ISO style rpg/hack/slash and Starcraft was not the first RTS, but what came before these games that was REALLY groundbreaking? When i say that, i mean the HUGE, still to this day, online following, the endless lore for both series, i mean the following is almost limitless.

If someone wanted to create a petition and send it to blizzard...it should have read, "Signatures below represent dedicated PC gamers showing appreciation to a truly innovative a great developer".

blizzard is in a tight bind. fans demand innovation and freshness and good additions and changes to a new release and yet...if blizzard were to make, say, starcraft total war, they would be killed on the spot.

anywho...blizzard u dont make mistakes. do whatever u want with the games. if u want to make D3 a side scrolling platformer then go right ahead. chances are itll still be a crackin platformer and probably give nintendo something to think about.

im sure whatever they produce in the end will be great fun. im already impressed with the D3 footage.

well it is just a shame that it took so long to revamp these two franchises. its almost like they did it on purpose waiting until people either gave up on SC and Diablo or until they got to the point to "demanding" it from Blizzard. But then again, people from Blizzard North have been quoted saying that back in 03, there were early stages of D3 goin on, hell it was being worked on 2 years after LoD.

blizzard never rush things. they probably have a massive production cycle for their games. they also dont release sub standard games..they will cancel them first if they feel there not up to scratch. they have an impecibly high standard and for that..they should be commended. i dont mind waiting for quality.

id love to see blizzard make a new IP though.

Assuming Blizzard delivers on gameplay most of the "hardcore" fans complaining about these two games will buy them anyway.
