Is that a good computer for $200? Also, after buying it for $200, i would have 170 dollars left, should i save it up to get a 8800GTS, or just buy one of those good video cards? (want to max out Cod4 on 1280x1024 with at least 70FPS, 4xAA 4xAF)

Yes, it's a good price. Maxing out COD4, I really doubt it. "Maxing out" settings in games won't be needed, even on the 'optimistic' settings on your computer, the game will look great... better then the 360 version even.

KK all i need to change is PSU, Case, and video card. But for Cod4, i want the fps is to be around 70 average. So what is a video card for the job? Again, 1280x1024, 4xAA, 4xAF, everything on high.

Oh and you should just go and buy the case and power supply now. Then, later when you have saved up more money, you can get a better card. I think some new cards should be out around the end of this year so you can wait for those too.

Have you tried out any new games on that computer yet? Check out the 7600GS first and see if it's up to snuff for your gaming needs.

Yeah do what Azn said. That 7600GS should be decent enough for games at around Medium-Low right now. That way gaming won't be too bad and it will give you some time to save up for some money to get a nicer card. But if you really do want settings as great as those...then you might as well get a GTX. I'm doubting that a 8800GTS will be able to pull off AA and AF with everything high @ 70FPS...

PSUs are very important, and not all are built the same. Buy the middle of the curve, stay the hell away from the bargain bin. A dead PSU is annoying. A half dead PSU causing wierd, unheard of syptoms on your other parts? Hellish. Trust me on that.

 ya right.

What about this one? It is high quality and has enough watts to power anything he will put into the PC. It can handle a quad-core and a 8800GTX.

Unless you have Vista, you might be happy will a sub $200 card.

If you must get a GTS, the 2900pro is a better card with an OC.

Great mews. dad is not gonna sell it to me for $200. he is gonna give it to me for free, if i get A's and B's.

So that means i will have about $450 to spend by christmas!! and that PSU is only 380w...

That's GREAT!

I know, but it will power a quad-core and a 8800GTX unless you have a lot of HDDs. With an extra $200, go for a 2900pro and a great PSU.

This is a good PSU.

How good is this PSU:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139003

I haven't had any luck finding the voltage variance ratings. I got a decent one for my current PC with 5% voltage ratings; I would like better for my gaming rig though - assuming 5% is not good.

Yeah that's a pretty decent one right there. Just as long as you don't plan on doing an SLI with two 8800's.

The one I bought about a month ago was a 500W XCLIO, and it has been pretty good for only $50. I will probably get the active PFC version for $70.

Woah, $200 for that pc, pretty cool :)

You should save for the 8800GT if you prefer Nvidia or the HD2950Pro if you prefer Ati.
