Bioshock reminded me alot of Dark Messiah with Plasmids but i can't help feeling tha DM did such a better job than Bioshock with it's magic. I just found them sooo much more creative and more fun to use and instead of the linear feeling Bioshock gave with them DM they actually felt useful whenever you wanted to use them. Also Dark Messiah has a SDK which means you can make you own stuff or download it which really gives it the edge aswel.

Just felt it was far superior and alot more fun considering the low scores it shouldn't have got and the high scores Bioshock got that it shouldn't have.

yeah but bioshock has an incredible atmosphere, with unique environments and story, it doesnt have too many bugs (compared to DM, wich was given low scores due to this particular reason) and it runs well on most machines. Its also pretty long (on hard and if you like to explore tuff, it can go over 20+ hours).

the combat was indeed fantastic. In the demo, i saved just before the fight scene with the black guards. I played this part at least 30 times. Every fight is different, just like in fear, wich makes those games good. But thats pretty much all that was good in DM : the combat.

I like the game alot, but it indeed earned those medicore scores. It was one of the buggiest games ever released. Patched up it is fine now, but most game sites only review the intitial release. It would certainly fair better today though.
