As the Topic states, is there anything on PC that resembles Darksouls at all? Been looking to get it on Xbox for a while now, but still not got round to it with not wanting to play console anymore. So just wondering if there's anything similar?

Thanks in advance

Hmm.. Enclave maybe? I don't think it's very good, though.

The first two/three Gothic games are close...ish. They're much more plot-driven and open world-y, but the difficulty and combat mechanics are similar.

Witcher 2 is similar to DS. At least combat gameplay and difficulty wise.

And people should stop complaining about GFWL. It's should not be a dealbreaker.

They're very different imo. The Witcher 2 is more story-driven and has poor combat system. Dark Souls doesn't tell you the story but you have to figure it out and the combat is the closest thing to perfect.

Thanks for the latest replies! I checked out Enclave. Didn't like the looks of it, seems so easy and the combat seemed simple. I've played the original Witcher, wasn't a huge fan so I won't be checking out the second. I'll look at Severance, so cheers for recommending that!

Probably right but it was difficult at least :P

It's just a action RPG/Dungeon explorer with a half decent combat system. Many RPGs were made similarily back in the day (such as Ultima Underworld), but did not feature such a well made combat system. The game is over-hyped at the moment though and has seemed to become a trend among internet nerds. It is a very good game, but by no means revolutionary as most of its addictive elements are borrowed from old-school western RPGs.

That's how it seems. Really waiting for a game to grip me in that I can replay over and over. Wish they just brought it to the PC sooner. I wanted to play the prequel. Can't remember the name off the top of my head, but that was only available for PS3, which I don't think I wanna touch.

Edit: I also checked out Severance. Thanks for the reccomendation, but still not what I'm looking for. Think I'll have to just go ahead and wait for it to come out for the PC.

The (spiritual) prequel is Demon's Souls and it's awesome. It's very much worth playing but I'm not sure how much longer it satys online.

I would have picked it up a long time ago if it came to Xbox. Nothing other than that game looked worth buying a PS3 for to be honest.

Witcher 2 is NOTHING like DS. Gameplay wise or difficulty wise. The Witcher is a million times easier then DS.

Demons souls is not a prequel. It was the first game.

I second Severance Blades of Darkness.

Dark souls combat is not perfect. But it is entertaining. The game will last you forever if you are into PvP

Nothing really like Dark Souls. The quality of the combat and control in that game is excellent.
