Dawn of war or CoH?

get CoH i like it alot more. i own both but i never play DoW.

Well I like the 40K environment and setting a lot more than CoH WW2 setting, but CoH is really a superior RTS game.

Here's hoping DoW 2 will be better.

CoH is a much deeper RTS. period.

Be sure to get CoH gold which comes with "Opposing Fronts".

Now the why: DoW is a good game, but its not as entangling as CoH, both as single player campaign or multiplayer, while in DoW the maps pretty much are always the same, the different ground damage and destruction of buildings in CoH can turn a battle upside down for both combatants, the map themselves  change a lot during each battle. 

It depends on what you want.  If you want WW2, get CoH.  If you want sci-fi, get DoW.  With all the expansions, Dawn of War is a much larger game, the single player lasts way longer but does get repetitive, especially in Dark Crusade and Soulstorm.  That being said, Company of Heroes is a superior game; it looks better, plays better, is more immersive, and is an all-around better game.  So the age-old 'quantity vs. quality' argument, myself I'd go with quality but it's really your choice.   

Company of Heroes is the better RTS, there's no personal preference involved. It's the same basic gameplay structure, only CoH is far more evolved and more refined and more advanced.

But, Dawn of War is far more diverse and far more burtal and is of course Warhammer 40K, which appeals to some hedgehogs. You should be aware that Dawn of War 2 is but a few months away and that Company of Heroes has a second expansion on the horizon.

Go with which you like most, not which is "best".

I played both and finished the single player campaigns as well. That being said, if I had to choose just one I'd go for COH. I like Dawn of War but I like COH more.

I can't wait for Dawn of War 2. I believe it takes some cues from COH. After all, they're both made by the same people.

something that absolutely ruins the show of CoH tho is the auto updating system. there is nothing in this world that irritates me more than being forced to download 100mb+ of patches right when you expect to start the game.
