Last night I watched "Superman Batman: Apocalypse", the third title in the Superman Animated Movie Series.

I highly recommend those movies by the way.

In that movie, they travel to Wonder Woman's home place (I think the old island was called Paradise Island), and it got me wondering.

Yes, the game takes place in Metropolis, but what if you could also go (via updates or expansions) to placed like Paradise Island, or The Fotress of Solitud....or the BatCave....etc etc?

That would give it a broader aspect, instead of the cityscape which surely will get tiresome...

Thoughts?

No one? Here is the SUMMARY for the STORY. I think it's an awesome story....and I love how they incorporated the normal humans into super humans. The story of DCUO is set in the 'present day' and the game begins with the arrival of a time-traveling Lex Luthor who has come to warn the Earth about a future battle that kills off the majority of heroes and villains, leaving the planet vulnerable to an invasion by Brainiac. The Cinematic Trailer, "Who Do You Trust",[19] which appears to be the opening sequence trailer of the game, depicts a dark future where Lex Luthor and other villains are engaged in what seems to be a final battle against what's then left of the Justice League. After the future Luthor and his allies (including Deathstroke, Joker and Harley Quinn, Black Adam and others) defeat Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Flash, Green Lantern, and Cyborg, Brainiac's ship arrives overhead with an entire alien armada. Back in the present day, this future Luthor tells the Justice League that Braniac then proceeded to eliminate all of the heroes and villains who would attempt to defend Earth from his attack, Luthor remaining as the sole survivor. He stole some of Braniac's technology in order to return to the present day and inform the heroes. Luthor sends some form of energy towards the surface of the Earth, which ripples in a shockwave around the geographical locations around Metropolis and Gotham City, and tells the JLA that he has just given them a fighting chance against Braniac. It has been proposed on many forums and reviews of the trailer, that Luthor used some of the same technology Braniac had utilized to copy the powers of Earth's Protectors, and projected it en-masse to random people all around those major cities, causing the emergence of more super-powered humans (i.e. the Player characters in the game world).

got this on pr order, gonna give it blast, love the trailer thy brought out. The pics seem to indicate that at the very least Gotham City is in the game and on the videos they mention other locations too so not just metropolis. Tho MMO's always expand so im sure DC will have plenty of content for them to add an improve. Some of the random events could be great. Gonna go normal sub at first to try out, if any good then will consider life time.

Didn't know there was lifetime..... thanks And awesome news that they have at least Gotham City....

I have read there will be, but not from the official site be warned, tho most have lifetime nower days (out of the newer titles), if not will just go for best plan you can go on. Go on the official site and look through the screenshots, you can see signs on side of buildings such as Gotham Clinic and there is also AC Chemicals factory and star labs. Also the Faq states "Explore the DC Universe; walk the darkened streets of Gotham City, investigate the mysteries of the futuristic cityscape of Metropolis and travel to legendary locations including Arkham Asylum and the Justice League of America Watchtower." Note it says including so there will be more

I really liked Superman Batman Apocalypse as well. I watched it a couple days ago and thought it was really well done but it seems all DC animated movies lately are pure awesome. I think DC Universe could be good but I have no real ideas on how they can make it so. I will just wait and see what they do and decide from there if its worth my time

Not sure what you getting at mate, my comments are from the official site for the MMO. The FaQ page and of coarse the screenshots (of which there are many) show in the background that its metropolus and gotham etc. Not claiming anything there what others cannot see so dont get what your getting at mate. Yeah FelipeInside the trailer is pretty cool, reminds me a little with the way its done of the TOR ones, been some pretty good game trailers this year. Lots of vidocs on there too worth a listen to

Why would anyone want a lifetime sub to a SoE game? Their only successful game was EQ, almost everything else has failed.

I really liked Superman Batman Apocalypse as well. I watched it a couple days ago and thought it was really well done but it seems all DC animated movies lately are pure awesome. I think DC Universe could be good but I have no real ideas on how they can make it so. I will just wait and see what they do and decide from there if its worth my timetestfactor888

Yeah it was great....not as good as Superman Batman: Public Enemies or Superman: Doomsday but still alright. Have you seen the other movies?

I used to think that but when i look back i went back to swg evertime i had gone to try something new. It was a good game but too much for some people who were not willing to learn, then they dumbed it down which made many leave but was actually still a good game. They shoulda done how they did it later as a new game with new engine so the old peeps still had their game. You gotta make mistakes to learn but its a different team now anyway so who knows, like i said will go mothly to see what its like

I don't know if I'll get lifetime for DCUO, I want to see if I get into the beta first and try it out....but my hopes are up for this game to work. I never get into betas though, maybe cause I'm from AUS....

Bit wierd how no beta yet tho considering when its meant to be out, also none too keen on the official site not having forums, you can only go on facebook or twitter. Or of caorse non official sites

Yeah it was great....not as good as Superman Batman: Public Enemies or Superman: Doomsday but still alright. Have you seen the other movies?

I believe I have seen every DC animated movie they have released recently. I really liked Under the Red Hood and the Green Lantern movie they did. Wonder Woman was great as well. I liked Public Enemies but Doomsday I was disappointed with. I am not a big fan of the comics so I am just judging them on the movie alone

Doomsday was way off from the comics.For starters, Doomsday whooped the whole justice league before Superman came.

I've been keeping my eye on DC Universe Online. I would have more faith in a November release if it was in Open Beta now but we'll see.

Doomsday was way off from the comics.For starters, Doomsday whooped the whole justice league before Superman came.

Didn't know that....I just read the final comic in which Superman dies... I remember going to the comic shop and getting it in a collector's box....

Check out the DC Animated Movies....they are very good...

We will see tho note that DC are largely involved and of coarse SOE themselves have gone through big changes in the last few months in recruiting new programmers and in other areas. Given i was miffed with what happend with SWG its for this reason that im going to still give this a go. The company is carrying the dirt of people not long since removed
