Ok guys, I've been saving up some money to build up a good PC for like a year, and my total savings up to now are $1300. I already have a 22' Inch Gateway Monitor for my Xbox 360 so I don't have to spend money in that. Up to know I have been pretty confident with what I want, but I still can't decide between DDR3 or DDR2... I want to get DDR3 1333 MHZ because the loads of bandwidth, but I 've heard the latency actually makes DDR3 slower. This are the specs of the machine I pretend to buy:

-Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB DDR3: $280 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148070)
-Asus P5K3 Deluxe: $235 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138080)
-Radeon HD 3870: $250 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102713&Tpk=Sapphire%2bRadeon%2bHD3870)
-Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600: $280 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017)
-SAMSUNG SpinPoint 500GB: $105 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152052)
-Rosewill RP600V2-S-SL 600W: $65 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182032)

Total = $1265

The case is the Antec 900.

There's no good reason to get DDR3 as of yet. Just stick with DDR2 for now.

Get 2GB or 4GB DDR2 RAM. (800MHz or 1066MHz)

DDR3 is very expensive

DDR3 has higher timings so it isn't worth it.

I am going to get 1066 MHZ, seems like it can produce better times than 800 MHZ and has a better clock spee..
