hey guys i have this 800 mhz 2gb and 2 gb kit on my laptop.but cpuz shows that i have pc2-6400(400mhz).why is this happening

DDR stands for Double Data Rate. So you take the frequency it says and multiply it by 2. EDIT: A more detailed explanation is that most electronics operate on a clock that oscillates between 0 and 1. Now most electronics only update on rising action 0->1 or falling action 1->0. DDR operates on both rising and falling action of the clock, therefore it refreshes at 800MHz with a 400MHz clock.

Dual channel doubles your bandwidth, not frequency.
