:| Not what I've been hearing. It's people like you that confuse me. According to what I've been reading, an 8800 Ultra kept the demo at 45 fps at max settings with 2 gigs.

The demo does not have the option to but the graphics on very high.. which is probably why and after very high comes maximum so 2 steps below max and hes hitting 45 fps it can only get worse which it does..

DDR3 atm is about the same speed at the high DDR2 sticks, you will see no improvement because of the initial latency which we saw with DDR2.

nothing of this generation og GPU's can the ultra and GTX can only run it at 1680x1050 and they get under 40 FPS, 2 GTX in SLI can run the game in 1920x1080 at around 35 FPS.

do u know when teh cards are coming out? I have 10 people coming over the 23rd to check out Crysis and a few other games on PC and I want to blow them away with Crysis. I'm just trying to run it at it's best with what's out now. Should I get 8gigs of DDR2 with Vista 64? Would that run better then 2gigs of DDR3 RAM? And with the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 over clocked to 3.6GHz. Would i see more FPS? Keep in mind im trying to run this DX10 2xAA or 4xAA

Very High is the max for Crysis. Also the demo does have very high enabled, you just have to be on Vista with a DX10 card. Yes, your rig will max Crysis.

If I were you I'd get 2 8800GTs instead, slightly lower performance at only 500-600 dollars. I would get a Q6600 and OC it to 3.0ghz which is fairly easy. Also get 2x2gb of DDR2 800 Ram. This will easily max Crysis for much cheaper. Then spend that extra money on a good custom water cooling kit to keep everything cool. Heck, you could buy a phase change but that would be unnecessary.

I'm not sure your setup would do me any good.

and that's just DX 9. I know it's only 1 GT 8800 but how much more would 2 running in SLI do?

A resoulution of 1280x1024 on your system will get high fps with very high settings DX10 and AA enabled 50+ fps (possibly 60+ at all times) and 1600x1200 with 30+. But remember there a features built into Crysis that will not be unlocked until more powerful hardware comes along so maxing Crysis means whatever the current hardware can perform.

Overpriced rig man, just don't overdo it.

I suggest waiting for the new 92 series GPUS to come out.

That would probably get crysis running on max with a steady AT LEAST 30FPS.

Amazing rig btw.

8 gigs of ram is total over kill 4GB is really enough lol

and I guess they wont be out in time for you as the 9*** series aint expected till be out until december/next year

you could try quad sli if you have money to burn and use 4-8GB RAM :P

sorry have not played it just going off information I was told thanks for the update but also from what I heard people with SLI 8800 Ultras.. said they could not max it out as in play the game without drops in fps that made it jaggy etc but I wont know until I get my new rig :)

The 8800 GT was the G92... I'm assuming you mean the GeForce 9 series...
