All I can say is that it doesn't make me want the game any more, that's for certain. My interest in this turd is at an all-time low I guess.

So the game will run fine, be a good port and look good.... but just because it doesn't have DX11 it's a turd? Are we judging games now because of their DirectX Level and not actual important things like gameplay, story, fun etc?? I musta missed the memo....
So I'm the only one who thought DS1 and to an extent ds2 were terrible ports? On DS1 when the vsync was on it was laggy and with it off the screen tearing was unbearable, I got it to tear less by forcing SSAA but it still didn't play right (even with adjusting mouse sensitivity to max and trying a gamepad) so I just bought a copy on ps3 again.achilles614
Yeah and probably two other people. DS1 and DS2 were perfect ports. DS1, you just had to turn VSync off and mouse sensitivity up high.

Turning off vsync caused a ton of screen-tearing, though now that I think about it would a framecap fix that? I've never used it through the drivers so I'm not sure if it would screw with anything. Did you have to run it in compatibility mode? Any good tips on making it more playable are much appreciated, I love DS but my experience with it on the PC was terrible. The problems occured on both my desktops and my brothers 3570k 460 sli system as well. I wouldn't call it a perfect port if you have to disable settings to make it run properly but to each his own. Loaded up my file and had the pleasure to see several corpses bouncing around the room because of a wacky physics glitch, was lol worthy to say the least.

Very weird. I played it on two different PCs and although there was a bit of screen tearing, it wasn't as much as you describe. Do ALL games do that cause maybe it's your monitor? I just disabled Vsync and put mouse sensitivity to max and the game ran butter smooth from start to finish. My friends also played it like that without any issues. If I have to just disable one thing to make the game run well then I call it a good port considering how other ports run.

CS:GO doesn't tear as much and I get well over 60fps (VH236h asus 23in monitor 2ms), Bioshock 1 and 2 run perfectly fine (just to give a console port example). I disabled vsync and set my deathadder on high dpi along with maxing the in game sensitivity...played alright mouse input wise but still I'd rather just play it on my ps3, which is sad because it's >720p and little AA Good port is far from perfect port :P Max payne 3 was a perfect port imo (was that a port if it had it's own PC "build"?)

Dude the game looks like a boring clone of every other boring clone that I've seen lately. The only thing it does have going for it is that maybe it will have some watered down cheap scares, that's it. It's going to have some shoehorned in coop and will no doubt have a lame ass story crammed around that premise. Sounds like a total waste of $60 for the console gamers and a waste of $40 for the PC gamers (or $20 a few weeks after release  ). The lower quality PC graphics just hurt their track record even more for me. I'll pass on that one...

And where did I say this had ANYTHING to do with DX11? Dude the game looks like a boring clone of every other boring clone that I've seen lately. So you found the game THAT BAD when you tested the final build huh? If it's as good as DS1 and DS2, or better, than I'm sold. Port will be fine, graphics will look good and better than part 2, gameplay will be the same scary corridor shooter (or even better) and hopefully the story will keep up the pace. No idea where you get clone and boring from. Every game copies from another. But to each their own, your loss...

I'm fine with what he said. All I expect is slightly better graphics which I'm sure they'll make good with. I only played DS1. Controls were the biggest issue, but besides that it was pretty good. If they port DS3 to the same caliber, I think it'll be good.... (assuming I ever get to play it)

What amazes me is that they are making it dx10 only when Frostbite 2 is a dx11 native engine. I just don't get why they would do that. ferret-gamer

It is not a DX11 native engine. It's a DX10 native engine.

Part 1 wasn't a perfect port, it had one of the worst mouse controls ever, only playable with a controller.ampiva
Or an extremely high DPI mouse. But yeah, you're totally right. Some of the worst mouse controls in a PC game, ever.

http://games.on.net/2013/01/we-want-it-to-be-great-on-all-systems-dead-space-3-producer-defends-pc-port/

To be fair though, part 1 and 2 were perfect ports, I don't know why PC Gamers are worried about the port for part 3.

FelipeInside

Perfect ports? I couldn't rebind half the keys I needed in Dead Space 1 (I had to hex edit them), the mouse control was awful and I had random stuttering in Dead Space 2 through the entire campaign.

The games were great, though. Especially the original Dead Space which was more about survival.

Actually that was a bug that was fixed by simply messing with the vsync and turning it on.. Or off? I can't remember.. Either way it fixed the problem.
