Don't infected (don't have a better word for it) people hallucinate before they go totally wacko and kill themselves, I think that's what's happening to him. But I'm not sure.anolecrabcf
I'm pretty sure it's the marker that makes people hallucinate, as like a self defense mechanism to keep them from disturbing it. The marker is causing Issac to have hallucinations of Nicole so that he'll put it back. The ending can be interpreted a number of different ways, but like Junaid said I think he just had a bit of a breakdown after killing hundreds of crazy space zombies, seeing his girlfriend kill herself, witnessing his fellow shipmates die, and being betrayed by the only other survivor, etc.
One thing i've wondered though is where did the hive mind come from? I know the marker was reverse-engineered by the government, and once they found out what it contained (the infection), they put it out in Deep Space, on some little planet in the middle of no-where and then made the system a restricted access zone. But it doesn't say if they created the hive mind after they created the marker and shipped both off to the planet, or if the hive mind was already on the planet (which would be a huge coincidence), or if the hive mind was drawn to it for some reason?
Not if it were your only way of staying alive. It's one of the worst movies I ever saw.Did anyone rent or buy the video? Is it worth watching?

The movie fails to accomplish what its set out to do and that is being a horror cartoon. Everything is too brightly colored and not enough detail is put in to make anything scary. If this was animated more like Spawn's animated series on HBO, that may have made a difference. Other than that there are some mistakes between the game and the movie such as the way the captain died. if you want to know more about the dead space plot line then i'd say it's worth a rent. if you just thought the game was ok then the movie will probably do nothing for you.Did anyone rent or buy the video? Is it worth watching?

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/23/ea-dead-space-army-of-two-bad-company-sequels-in-the-works/ While it's not an announcement per se, EA liked what it saw from Dead Space so much that the top brass wanted the sequel before Dead Space was even released. I think we can take that as pretty official, especially given that the game sold over a million units and received such great reviews. I don't see any reason for EA to not want a sequel at this point. Even though Redwood is working on Dante's Inferno, there's no reason they can't be working on DS2 as well, and perhaps other projects besides. There's always overlap and multiple projects on the go at big companies.I don't think there is any official indication that a sequel is in the works. EA Redwood Shores is currently working on another brand new title "Dante's Inferno".

It's been mentioned before already, so I won't take any credit for what i'm about to state. That being said, if you take a look at all the names/titles of each chapter, and take the first letter of each of the 12 chapters, it will spell out what I think is the bottom-line in regards to Nicole.
For everyone's convenience here it is:
Chapter 1: New Arrivals
Chapter 2: Intensive Care
Chapter 3: Course Correction
Chapter 4: Obliteration Imminent
Chapter 5: Lethal Devotion
Chapter 6: Environmental Hazard
Chapter 7: Into the Void
Chapter 8: Search and Rescue
Chapter 9: Dead on Arrival
Chapter 10: End of Days
Chapter 11: Alternate Solutions
Chapter 12: Dead Space
Regarding the movie prequel, it is good in the sense that it provides a decent backstory to the game. IMO, it's better to have played the game first then watch the movie as opposed to watching the movie first and then playing the game. The movie taken by itself though, is not really that good. Animation is quite antiquated and there's not much detail in the art. It looks like a cartoon from the 80's. The art design could have been intentional, but it still doesn't appeal to me.
