Dead State Kickstart is now FUN-dead

For anyone interested, the Kickstart for Dead State is up and lumbering. They're looking for 150k to finish the game and I don't think they'll have too much trouble reaching and most likely exceeding their goal.

I've been looking forward to this game for a long time.

Saw that, but I still have to decide how much to pledge. I've been waiting for this for a while.

$50 to Caramaggedon and now $50 to this i'm such a nice guy. :P

Pretty nice that they have made nearly 1/3 of their goal in less than a day. I think crowd-funding is really showing that there is a wide range of gamers who aren't having their needs met by the major developers and publishers. I like that he alludes to how Troika and Black Isles fate may have been different if there were other sources of obtaining financing back then.

I gave $50 to Dead State (pretty much my typical pledge) but the t-shirt at $100 was really tempting. It came down to, did I like the T-shirt more than I liked being married. My wife simply wouldn't understand my spending $100 on a game.

What's with all these locations that died? Dead Space, I mean, can space even die? And Dead Island, was the island a living creature?

Saw this game a while ago, looked awesome, and I was wondering if it was ever going to come out. Guess this answered my question :) I'll probably be pledging to the project.

Looks very intriguing. Not a fan of turn-based combat though. Might have to pledge a lil' money :P

Dead State has met its funding goals with 13 days left. Nice.

They have some awesome stretch goals.I wish I could afford to pledge more.

:) good had a eye on this game for over a year now and I now they have met they goal I might up kickstart bid because they have lots of ambition for this game.

I was happy to see the Project Zomboid guys put up a big blog on there main website giving Dead State some props. Sure a few people where sent to the Dead State kickstarter page from the PZ website ;)

They are at 277k$ with 17 hours to go.The game looks great so far although I don't particularly like the turn based combat system but I'm not bothered by it either.I'm more interested in the story and if Bloodlines is any indicator it will be instant gold.Plus Brian Mitsoda is a really great writer.This particular piece of fiction made me shiver.I hope they will be able to capture at least a fraction of the atmosphere in the game.

As long as you get the game it shouldn't matter. The way I see it, I am basically buying the game in advance as long as it gets funded. Most of these games are $20-30 games anyway so pledging $15 will actually save you money.

I just pledged $30 for Dead State and will get 2 copies of the game once its complete. I could probably turn around and sell the copy for $20 once the game is launched and essentially get the game for $10.

This, Day Z and Project Zomboid....seems like it's gonna be the best few years for zombie games.
