i've used my debit card online. works just like a credit card. punch in the numbers and you're good to go.
and Audiosurf is just awesome. you'll love it
As long as it is from one of the accepted companies(Visa, Mastercard, exct.) it will work fine.
The only difference between a debit and credit card is that you have to have money in the account for a debit card to work. With a credit card they give you a line of credit to play with. Otherwise they act they same way.
You can use your debit card. However I'd advise you to get a credit card, because if someone gets your debit card info they can suck all the money out of your savings/checking account. SimpJee
That's true, with a credit card you have some fraud protection. Not so much with a debit card.
BTW what happened to that guy who hacked the steam servers a while ago?
Most debit cards act as credit cards, as long as they have the Visa or Mastercard logo. If so, you should be fine. I use my debit card with STEAM all the time.Gammit10Yup this. Have used my MasterCard debit many times, though now I tend to use it through PayPal.
I'll try to get a debit card for use on steam. But my currency is SEK crown (I live in Sweden) but steam in EU only accept euro. Will it automatically exchange currency if I use it to buy games on steam?Kleeyook
Yep, It will do like here In denmark, it will draw the amound of SEK that would equal the price in Euro, Ive noticed that we atleast here in denmark, have a very minimal charge for that, far lower then when you need to change from Dkr to Euro in bills at the bank.
So it works fine ^^ And the prices on steam are far lower even on new releases then our heavy taxed countries :P (Okay Sweden maybe less then Denmark).
But should work just fine ^^

That happened to me last year. If you do use a debit card, open a separate checking account to be used for online purchases only. Only put so much money in the account as you intend to use on purchased goods online. That way, if someone does steal your account information, they only have access to the limited funds in your alternate checking account.
