I wont be able to create a new pc soon, so i decided to upgrade this one to keep it going a bit longer.

Recently purchased: 500w psu and some thermaltake fans

current spec:

p4 2.6c @ 2.9c

1.5gb 3200ddr

ati 9600xt

planning to upgrade vid card to that.  Games looking forward to play : hellgate london, CS:S/HL2, wc:ft, doom 3, fear, stalker

In that price range I'd go for a 7600GT, as it's a much better card.

 i tried to find a 7600gt, and if you can find one around 110$ ill go for it, but the cheapest ive found was 150$.  that card i just linked btw, i found for 110$ from zipzoomfly.

What's your budget?

I'd suggest getting the 7950GT AGP that is available on newegg, as then you'd pretty much have the fastest AGP card possible.

i guess all i need is a bit more cash, i go in for a CS internship tomorrow so i might be able to grab some cash from that.

Yea:you are better off to save,borrow, or beg for some more cash to get a better card. Your future problems is not going to be your new video card, but your C.P.U. and almost all the newer mobo's are pci-express.roulettethedog

 i cant really save for a pc right now, so i have to prolong it as best as i can.  Ill be attending school in Japan abroad next year, and it wont be easy to make a new pc.   Yet, i want it long enough in order to play hellgate at the very least and to handle some last year games.
