If it was me I would get rid of the quad and go for a higher end dual core, next get rid of that 3 Gb and stay with 2gb or go ahead and get 4gb to have dual channel, 2gb/4gb in dual channel runs faster than 3gb in single channel.

Also The Graphics card is good, are you geting two 500Gb's or one Tb getting two 500's is faster. But even with the specs you posted its a descent rig.

its a good comp but if you bought it pre-build you wont be able to overclock

id say switch the 3 gigs to 2 gigs or 4 gigs in dual channel

It's good, but how much are you paying for it? you might be able to get something better for cheaper.

or if you don't want to build you can probaly get it cheaper on another pre-built site there's actuallly good sites out there that don't charge that much extra if you had bought all the parts individually

I would change CPU to something like E8300/8500. Also, get a decent PSU with that.

Pvt_r3d
dual channel basically just doubles the communication between your CPU and hardware via the RAM.

Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 quad core processo

BFG 8800 gt oc 512 mb

1000 GB hard drive

3 GB DDR2 Dual Channel memory

windows vista

Im not so bright with computers so i wasnt so sure if it was decent

Pvt_r3d

Get rid of Vista, 1000gb harddrive?......Go 250gb. Save some money.

Id get a Dual core (e8400, e8200, e3750)

Spend a little more and get a 8800gts (only like $20-30 more I believe)

He's not building that, he bought it from his friend for $600. For $600 that's a steal.

It is a good gaming PC, you could run Crysis no problem, maybe medium settings. Some high. It's like my dads PC, cept he has an 8600Gt and you have an 8800GT, I can run Crysis on his computer on medium with 30 FPS, you should have no trouble with Crysis.

I would step down to 2gb of quality 800mhz pc2-6400 ram

also.. get two 250GB HDDs and run them in RAID 0 . Youll be flying!
