I'm looking at purchasing this pre-built setup:

- Intel Core2 Duo E7200 (2.53ghz)

- 4GB RAM

- 500GB HDD

- Windows XP Pro installed

I'm also buying a graphics card to go with it:

- Gigabyte ATI HD4850 512mb, DDR3, PCI-E

I know it may not be the greatest gaming setup ever, but i only have a small budget and i would just like to know:

1) whether it would play something such as World of Warcraft on decent video settings without much trouble.

2) whether it will play most games comfortably on medium/low video settings.

Thanks in advance.

ur monitor resolution ?
ur Ram speed ? & Brand. PC-5300 ? 4200 ? 6400 ? 8000 ?
which is 533mhz : 667mhz 800mhz & 1150 mhz for OCZ best ram
ur cpu overclock ti to at last 3.2Ghz +
i heard oyu can do it to +1GHZ so 3.5 GHZ easy
U need a new cpu cooler. and a case and a power-supply.
i doubt ur old 300WATS psu can support such setting.
at your own risk.
a better case for around 40-50$ with a cpu cooler such as duo max orb or. Vendetta II from OCZ will help you alot to oc it safety and smooth to get +25% performances in video game any gamer agree that a 25% Boost is awsome

1: That computer could probably play four games of maxed World of Warcraft simultaneously with a good internet connection.

2: Easily - that machine should be able to run any game on the market on high at the very least, and it won't be restricted to medium/low settings for two-three years.

i actually dont have that information as of yet..

but im not sure if i will want to OC it just yet, as i said, i have a VERY tight budget and can just afford the PC and graphics card, let alone extras such as a new case/power supply.

without any OCing, and assuming the RAM is say, 800mhz or whateva, is it still an OK setup?

depend of resolution 1920x1200 is about requirement of power by +50% for all max at 90fPS 60 fps = lag can occur some time where it under super heavy load 90fps = can't
but i think he as only 1280x1024 or max 1680x1050 like me right now im getting 1920x1200 later tough
but true you could run about 4 time wow at all max. with a such setting

else harvest money in a way you can
waiting can get you better piece. as long you know how to harvest money :P
i helped some australian to harvest money to buy there kind pc they want but it shoudl be fine for you
i just doubt for oc & powersuply with current Settings

Yeah, i will only be running it at max 1280 x 1024.

If this changes the speed at which games will run, then inform me.

I just want to be sure im getting bang for my buck.

I'd probably consider Vista 64-bit to better make use of all that RAM, but the hardware looks solid as can be.

if you not going vista.. go with DDr2 Best Quality 2GB instead of 4GB like 1150 you'd get. 3-4 more frame rate in video game
that a increment those at 1150mhz from ocz they run fine
unless you buy a monitor that is supporting. 1680x1050 then more ram could maybe come a idea still.
it only applicator to vista mostly to get more then 2GB it proved by place like AmandTech & Bit-tech.net to not
get 4GB Of ram as it only increase game Performances by max 1% to 2% depend of the (Type of ram)
you see a better difference trough DDR3 Dual channel still dDr3 Best ram are too expensive
so id get Best DDr2 value

Bit-tech just did an article regarding 2GB versus 4GB and came to the conclusion that the days of having 4GB for gaming are nigh, if not already upon us.

realy ? oh tough better ram mhz did a differance better
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2008/07/08/is-more-memory-better/5

cause you see there on 1280x1024 not much a differance
while from previous post regard ram
http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.aspx?i=3053&p=7

ain't 1150mhz DDr2 REAPER From OCZ perform around DDr3 1066mhz discontinous ram. only DDR 1333 & 1600 &2000oc are still in production
but for game load time and save time 4GB = Better
but apprently for current gameplay unless going sli video card. not much a differance :-/

Look at places besides sheer FPS charts. Game load times often drop dramatically, and task switching benefits quite a bit. Good gaming experience isn't just about a few frames-per-second.

True And i said that as well about Loading faster and switching faster. still in some game you get 3-5fps from going to 1150mhz DDR2 i heard off that a better in-game experience
while for multi-task & gaming load time. it another thing and im amazed by that it a great review
cause of instead 40 second it like 20 second or 5 second instead of 35. ect.

if only DDr3 where much cheaper and run trough all motherboard id get DDR3 Straigh a way XD

this is a good gaming rig, you wont have any problems, but you should get a E8400 since it's so cheap and better.

As cheap as RAM is nowadays, why not get 4GB and not have to worry about memory for a looong time.

32-bit will recognize 4GB RAM, but not any more. You could use more RAM, since Photoshop is a system hog

- Gigabyte ATI HD4850 512mb, DDR3, PCI-Etezz69

Get the Asus HD4850 for the fan control software. The Gigabyte has a lower memory clock than reference.
