OK, I know this is a sort of silly one but....

Would you buy a Q6600 OR Wait for A duo core Penryn (wolfdale).

I really am about to build this is the last part, which I can buy today (thanks Dad for the Gift certificate)

But how much performance boost from the New Penryn? I have an EVGA 780i to run it on!

Also wondering about buyin the 8800GT or wait for the 98XX series. I really hate to wait another month or 2 for all this.

Maybe just buy a cheap E2k chip, and pick up a Yorkfield processor in a few months?

Between those two options though, I'd lean towards the Q6600. It's available now, it's quad-core, and you won't need to upgrade your processor until LGA775 is either dead or well on its way to being dead.

I always like a man who chooses "buy now" . Basically thats how I feel too. I am tired of waiting , I have 1000+ dollars of parts just stitting waiting on the cpu and graphics card.

I think I'm gonna Pop my cherry this week.

What about the graphics options obviously looking at the 8800gt, Pop now or stay a virgin till the 9800?

Whenever that is....someone said maybe Feb?

What can I say, its going to be a sexy rig. To make it real hardware porn, for all you voyuers, I will be posting step by step build pics when I finally start. Sort reverse porn though, (I'll be putting things on the system not taking them off).

LOL
