Sooo, i don't know if this question has been asked a lot or not(sorry if it has) but do I need to play the first Deus Ex to fully enjoy Human Revolution? I tried playing the original once but I just couldn't seem to be into it because*sigh* I'm a bit spoiled by todays graphics(if anyone knows of an Deus Ex graphics mods that would be cool too)

You'd enjoy it more (I think) but since it's a prequel, you don't NEED to play the original.

It would be nice but you don't have to play the original. You'll enjoy it no matter what though.

A lot of major characters from the first game show up in DEHR, and there's also a lot of references to even more characters, organizations, and technology from the first game as well. In addition, there's even some homages to the first game slipped into DEHR like the first keypad code you enter, the original game's music playing over radios in the game, and a special little added dialogue scene if you go into the women's restroom. You're not going to be lost playing DEHR but at the same time a lot of references will fly straight by you. I'd say it would be like watching the Star Wars prequels before watching the original trilogy.

When I heard 0451 as the code to leave Sarif's office I was like "WOOOOOOOW". And what Pritchard said after going to the women's bathroom I was like "WOOOOOOW". And one of the email's talked about Versalife, I was like "WOOOOOOW". Lol sorry, I get all giddy about Deus Ex!
