i made almost the same topic and everyone hates almost all mainstream notebook products.

im a little shock that voodoo is even in the same class as the rest you listed. if you are maken a lotta money and you get a voodo i think you have the end all be all of notebooks. however they cost almost as much as a top of the line tower and more.

my vote would be for asus g1s b2 notebook.

Yes, I know lots of people hate mainstream producers, but for laptops, I would rather buy a pre-made one that I know for sure works. Plus, the monthly payments aren't too bad if you have a job with a decen tincome, I would never be able to afford a 5k+ laptop right off the bat.

I think Asus is probably the best manufacturer out there for decent gaming laptops. Good ones with a C2D and an 8600gt go from $1,500-$2,500, though.

are the laptops better than their mobo's are, because if they still suck the same, forget about it.

Hp and Voodoo, mergred, and now Voodoo makes laptops and a few desktops for Hp, much like Dell and Alienware in terms of how the cmopnay relationship works.

Although this is a really expensive laptop that most would consider a waste of money. Its quite a statement when someone walks into a lan party with a laptop like this. Just like SLI, expensive laptops are really just bragging rights. Honestly though, if I had money to blow, I'd be buying a gaming laptop spared no expense.

Well toshiba makes good Gaming laptops also better then Alienware and dell when you compare prices/features mine i got for 1400$ with 8700GT,2gb ram upgradeble to 4gb,1.66ghz C2D,240GB HDD,4 speakers/built in minisubwoofer,6usb ports,hdmi,vga,SDslot,17inch screen,2 Fans built in which is nice for the cooling aspect of these gaming laptops, and its fast. Toshiba is Good on gaming laptops they slap the high end competition for low prices at the same performances.

If I was to get a new laptop, should I wait for some newer ones, tht have 9 series in them, and are thinner. (As much as I hate Mac, the Air is thin as hell!) Or should I get one now?

Do you think I should also wait for Wimax to become popular? So i dont have to buy an attachment. heres my pics, can you choose, I would choose the middle one because it has dual cards, and since it is a laptop, i want better graphics, so the more the merrier.
