Right, this question is for a friend of mine.

He has a Dell Dimension 5100. Specs are Pentium 4 [3.2Ghz], 512MB RAM and Intel 82945G Express graphics.

Anyway... he wants to get a real graphics card for it. Just something that will play a few games like Rome Total War. So he doesn't need anything like a 8 series card. Just a budget card that can still run games.

Problem is he doesn't know if he has PCI, AGP or PCI-E slot on the motherboard.
I tried looking on the internet but have found various different specs for the Dimension 5100.

Does anyone have one of these PCs on even know what type of slot is on the motherboard.

Thanks.....

A manual will help, it appears to have a PCI-Express 16x slot http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5100/en/sm/techov1.htm#wp1052309

If the above doesnt work...do a Google search for Berlac Advisor (free download), that should tell you everything you need to know.Â
