Is this a pretty decent laptop? (My brother got it as a gift but he barely uses it, so I was thinking about using it for gaming)

Would it be able to run some recent games at minimum settings atleast? I want to be able to play something like Company of Heroes or WorldIn Conflict andNeverwinter Nights 2.

Also, would I be able to atleast run some future releases at minimum settings like Hellgate: London, The Witcher, Crysis or are the specs to low?

I used to be a PC gamer but I just got into consoles more, I want to try and get back into PC gaming because they're are alot of games i'm interested in, so I was going to use his laptop to see if I can get back into gaming instead of building a PC and then not like it.

If all you know about the thing is its base model number, that won't tell anyone enough, and hardly anyone is going to bother to do your search work for you and look it up at Dell, so you look at this list, and then figure out how to learn more, then come back to ask:

Processor Manufacturer: AMD / Intel
Processor Type: Athlon 64 / Pentium / dual core
Processor Speed: ?.? Ghz (or AMD Performance Number)
Operating System / Service Pack: WindowsXP with SP #?
System RAM: ? ? GBs (MBs, if less than 1024)
Video (GPU]) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those are useful for games)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon x1650 Pro / Geforce 7600 GS
Video Card onboard RAM: ??? MBs

You are probably correct, but I have avoided Dell myself, and advised all of those who ask my advice to do so as well, since they both reduced the quality of support, and farmed out the tech center overseas. That's really not good enough for the prices that they charge (when it's not a promotional deal). There was a time when the quality was excellent, and the support was the best that there was, and I would send new buyers to their phone sales center. No more.

Dell could care less, since we're talking about a circle of acquaintances amounting to probably 50-60 computer buyers/ users who actually pay any attention to what I tell them. Dell does sell some decent gear still, but it really takes plenty of hardware savvy before you can be sure you have gotten that best stuff. It's easier to buy elsewhere, or do as I do, and build at home. (Asus sells a barebones laptop, ready to install your own CPU, memory, and hard drive -- not sure about video, I suspect the choices on that would be limited.) But I don't travel much any more, and can get along without a laptop now.

Nevermind, Dell really does suck. Everyone in my family bought a Dell because they fall for all the marketing crap. The laptops and computers are newer model than the HPlaptop I bought, but I could atleast run Battlefield 2142 on minimum, none of the Dell's could.
