It will work.. And your monitor is widescreen which is good news. But native resolution is 1680 x 1050 so I'm not sure how good it will look on anything higher than 1280x1024 (720p). But still it will look alot better than a standard tv set. All you need is the official microsoft vga AV cable. It costs about 40$. And it iwll have everything you need for hooking up your 360 to a monitor. Don't buy it off ebay because you might get a unofficial cable, which is not what you want.
You might want to get a normal CRT monitor instead of your tft, They're very cheap, as little as 20$. Are flexible because they work better on resolutions which are not native. And most decent 19" and over crts made in the last five year can display 1920x1080 which is 1080p. Best qality picture you can get.
you will need some way to get sound, if your monitor doesn't have inbuilt speakers. There are many ways do this. Via a stero with the AV cords or by DIgitial Optical cable. I use my laptop -line in- for sound. and then just plug headphones into my laptop. And the sound from a decent pc hd sound card is going to be good.
like the user above stated, it will work.
I'll give a wuick example just incase theres anything else youre wondering about. I have a 360/monitor set up aswell.
My 360 has an HDMI port. I found a cable at walmart that is HDMI - DVI. So thats how i get video from the 360 to the monitor. as for audio, the 360 Elite comes with a little dongle that plugs into the component port on the back of the 360 (just above the HDMI port) this donggle has 2 audio jacks which i use to plug into my 5.1 surround sound system. The only problem you may have is if you dont have an Elite. If thats the case you may need to buy the official Xbox 360 VGA converter. They sell them all over the place.
I just bought the same monitor as you. It arrived yesterday, and I've set it up with my PC and 360 today. If your 360 has an HDMI port, all you need is an HDMI-HDMI cable. Since HDMI handles both audio and video, all you need to do is connect any speaker or headphone into the back of the monitor (not your PC) and it works great. I had to register and reply, seeing as the other 2 replies as being more complicated than I suspect you require.
Edit: Apparently I can't tell June from July. I guess I'm a month late.
