Almost ready to pull the trigger on this monitor, but would like someone else to agree with me so i thought i would ask for some input. It is currently on sale for 830.00 bucks at Best Buy and i also have 100 dollars in giftcards which will bring the price down to around 770 after taxes. I recently upgraded my GPU's from 480's to 680's and would like to fully utilize my new GPU's. The Dell U2711 is praised by almost every review i have read, but if any gamers have it, i would value their opinion and real world experience more than a website review. I was originally going to go with the recently released Asus monitor which also has a 2,560 by 1,440 pixels, but since Best Buy is offering the U2711 at such a steep discount + the gift cards, it brings down the price between the two at almost exactly the same.

Only comment on it's performance and value. I will be moving on from 1080p no matter what.

Get the U2711. Its perfectly fine for gaming.

If you don't like it, you can always return it for a refund.

I've got three running in Eyefinity and I love them. There is also an LED version available now:http://accessories.ap.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=au&cs=audhs1&l=en&s=dhs&sku=210-40773&redirect=1

That version is currently running 559.

Damn you guys are rich! Upgraded from 480's to 680's!! Lucky all I got is a 460.... If you have the cash than yea I guess so, but imo I would go for a catleap or achieva. Yea its a great monitor, but I would never fork out 800$ on a monitor. Thats almost as much as my whole computer.

Edit: You can also get catleaps that are overclockable to 120hz for like 500$. Best of both worlds.

My roommate has a U2711. I've used it a bit, it's pretty awesome.

I have read about the Catleap monitors, but I dont feel like taking a gamble on the quality of the panel. I want peace of mind and a cheaper price just isn't worth risking that.

It's a great monitor. I went with the Asus 1440p panel instead but you can't really go wrong with either. I paid $699 for the Asus and it is worth every penny.

I was in the same boat. I wanted to pull the trigger on the Catleap or the Crossover monitor but I chickened out at the end.

I recently bought a Dell U2713HM (which is similar to the U2711), and I love it. Great picture quality! And surprisingly not that demanding to run at those resolutions (I only have 1 GTX680 and run everything fine).
