Since a demo of Demigod was recently released, what do you guys think of the game?
I've been playing the demo a lot the last couple of days, and i really enjoy it, but i have to say, the netcode is absolutely awful. Which is a real shame.

I tried the demo but didn't like it. It was very slow and cumbersome and the low standard of overall polish surprised me. The complete lack of any instructions what so ever also put me off.
You need instructions for such a simple game? o_0 The games is perfect for what it wants to be, but the multiplayer has severe problems, especially for Europeans and it also lacks content, but that might change after en expansion or a few DLCs.I tried the demo but didn't like it. I found it to be VERY fast paced and VERY polished. Certainly more polished than any other strategy in the last few years.
It's the only MP game that hooked me since Quake 3/Live. So I think it's good:P
Oh, and (sorry for hijacking your thread, TC :P) I've just found out that Sacrifice works beautifully on netbooks. Woohoo :Djimmyjammer69Haha, no problem. If you are interested in Demigod you should download the demo. It is fun, despite the online issues.

Actually it was slow paced for me, I played a lot of Dota games. Demigod wasn't as fast paced as Dota, at least to me.
I actually picked up the game on the day of release, and I gotta say I love the game. While the 'story' is superficial, the DotA-style game isn't known for its masterful writing (and given that it is a multiplayer-centric game, even having a single-player 'campaign' mode is beyond what I would have expected). The graphics are strikingly impressive (both in the art direction of the arenas and in unit animation/spell effects), so I'm a little surprised people are criticizing the game with the statement that the graphics are unimpressive. And, while I haven't had any luck running the game on my 2GHz Centrino notebook (with an Nvidia GeForce Go 6600 GPU), the game runs flawlessly (even in late game) on my E6600 desktop (with ATI 4870 512MB GPU).
As for not knowing what to do, here's the basic run down. Capture flags (or control points, if you're used to the Relic RTS games) to increase income and to gain bonuses to your hero and regular units. You units will automatically spawn from any portal(s) you have captured. Kill enemy units and enemy heroes with your hero to gain experience points and (eventually) level up. Spend your skill points in your hero's skill tree. Break down enemy towers so your units can eventually attack and destroy the enemy citadel. Those are the basics of the game. You can also purchase equipment for your hero, upgrades for your units (or even upgrades to your units), and find out which artifact from the artifact shop is just right for you...but overall, the game is fairly simple to grasp.
On control: you can only control your hero and any units the hero himself/herself has summoned. If you pick a hero from the left hand column, it's an assassin class hero, and you play the game like an ARPG. If you choose from the right-hand column, you chose a general and it plays like a mini-RTS.
