I'm getting a q6600 cpu, 4 gigs of 800mhz ram, 600w powersupply, a descent oc sli mainboard and a 8800gts 640mb.

I got three questions:

1. how long will the cpu last u think?

2. 8800gts 640mb in sli or the new 9800gts when it hit shelves?(yes I know I need a more powerfull powersupply for sli)

3. how far will I be able to oc the q6600? Im getting a good oc mainboard, oc ram(800mhz,ddr2) and watercooling system

1. I don't know, a few years maybe. 2. 8800GTX, what resolution are you playing that you need SLI? 3. It's impossible to say, maybe 3GHZ+ I'd get 2GB of RAM and a GTX.

1. Until your next upgrade...
2. GTS 320mb is good enough for now.
3. 3.4-3.8ghz with a quality custom WC loop.

you both don't make any sense. How can you tell him he should get a new monitor. He could be running on a brand new LCD, and you can't justify that a monitor being 1600x1200 means its a great monitor...

There are CRTs that run 1600x1200

Because he has fancy hardware to run high resolution games. Also Widescreen LCDs are what's in now.
