Someone got ahold of a press copy of Human Revolution, which I believe is an incomplete version of the game, with several stages, I guess for review purposes? Weird sort of leak, these do not happen often. Anyways this is bound to be spread across the internet in a matter of hours, if it has not already :/

I'm a bit disappointed in this leak, am kind of worried about the feedback we are sure to see in the coming days. Hopefully the end result will live up to the hype surrounding the franchise

Don't do that, it's plain wrong... you are just adding fire to the "pirates are destroying gaming etc etc" debate.

Just wait for the final product and read reviews....or at least an official demo.

Yup, full game with mastercode. So it was playable. with a few minor bugs. This leak is only 12 hours of the game with barely any bugs, people are saying it'll live up to DX1, I find that hard to believe but time will tell.

TFU and assins creed leaks were mcuh more finished product.. i expect deus ex to be like crysis.. half finsihed and half playable

It's not a big deal, it's only a demo in beta version.

Anyway, the feedback of this leak is very good.

A worthy successor to Deus Ex many say. No need to worry.

Already a thread on this. But yeah, everyone who's played it has said it lives up to the original. Most of these people have played DX1 as well (hence why they're comparing it to the original) so it's not like they have low standards. The big thing in the demo is that just like in the original, there are multiple ways to do everything and there are a TON of exploration possibilities. People have reported spending hours just inside individual buildings doing nothing but exploring rooms, hacking computers, etc.

Actually it pretty much was the final product. The only real game breakers were the laggy animations, sound bugs, the helicopter screen, and a few AI f-ups. Besides that it was the complete game. Everyone was claiming "Max settings are broken theres no high res textures, ect!" Hell even I said that after playing it...and it turned out to be a big, fat lie and nothing more than a console port. The leak had a 64-bit executable and editor. Final product did not.

Heard about it in inside gaming. This is not a bad thing, people can try it and see if they like it. Be warned though. It could be the console build with none of the pc features such as the custom hud.

No, it's definitely the PC version. The tutorial videos use X360 buttons, as does the level-up tooltip, but otherwise the interface is obviously intended for PC. For example, you can type in passwords with a keyboard and you can punch in door codes with the numpad. Also, unlike Crysis 2, there are actually graphics options available.

I've seen it yeah. If you want a video there's no shortage of them on the internet, just go to youtube or google. I'd post some were it not for the fact that I think that might run afoul of the TOS. And what do you mean by "custom HUD"?

If people are saying that its good so far, all the more reason NOT to pirate it aand purchase it. Day 1 buy for me. Quite excited. Living up to the first game will be near impossible as it was revolutionary in many ways. I cant see this game being doing what the first did for gaming but it can still be a very good game, which would be awesome. The second was kind of weak-sauce.

Yeah, that's there. Just like DX1. F1-F5 are augmentation abilities, and 1-0 are quick inventory.

I read a player review on another site and the reviewer said, despite it being a beta the game is very streamlined and works well on their system. And it basically is the intro and the first level after that. But it is a excellent game and a day 1 purchase. Am glad a pre-ordered it on steam :)

It's funny how the rumor mill began with the release date. First it was slated for late 2011 release, then they announced later that it would be fiscal year 2012 (which could very well still be late 2011, BUT could also be early 2012), because they didn't want to rush the game and they wanted to give us a worthy successor to Deus Ex. I agree with that end part. I'm in no rush for Deus Ex: HR. I want them to take their time and make it the best game they possibly could. With that said, all the recent news indicates that it will come out in 2011. I just hope it wasn't rushed to the market because of Square Enix's financial issues.

Its a beta/demo that stops at the first boss. We were allowed to talk about the Crysis 2 leak with no violations.

Yeah it's about 25-35% of the game. I've been watching a free live streams of people playing it and it looks god aweful on PC to be honest, I'm really dissapointed. Who knows though, maybe this partial release doesn't have all the graphic options and such so it may look better on release. That or it will be a console port where the only graphic options are to turn the brightness up.

Isn't discussing warez a banable offense? Admitting to piracy definitely is... Anyways this is bad news all around. If the game is good, it will mean less money for good devs. If the game is bad, then our hopes will be dashed. Urg...

Its a beta/demo that stops at the first boss. We were allowed to talk about the Crysis 2 leak with no violations.

Right but as I recall, we aren't allowed to say "Enjoying the leaked beta right now!" nearly the only way a person could have obtained that would be through piracy.

I watched some of it on YouTube. The game gives me mixed feelings. On one hand, it does seem considerably better than Invisible War. Hacking looks more elaborate; hopefully it doesn't get repetitively easy like it did in games like Bioshock or Mass Effect 2. Stealth looks satisfactory, albeit it uses an overly familiar forgiving formula. If you trigger alarms, it raises the alert levels until you wait out the cool down. But you can get bonuses for completing a level without being detected. The augmentation looks promising.

On the other hand, it looks like it guides you too much. Everything you can interact with is highlighted from a distance. In all the rooms, he could see every door, grate, window, compartment, etc that could be opened as long as it was visible no matter how far away. This discourages exploration and discovering things on your own. They may as well hang signs on the walls that say "go this way" or "hidden augmentation over here". And no, I don't think it was just a tutorial mission. All the videos of various levels are like this.

Graphically, it looks good and am pleased with the detail they put in it.

Eidos themselves encourage people posting impressions and giving feedback about the leak. Even Neogaf allows talk about it, since Eidos said it's OK.

You can turn off highlights. But I think they fit the augmented reality fantasy.

Yeah it was leaked a short while ago. Honestly from all the impressions I've read of people playing it, it actually sounds pretty damn good despite those stupid additions (3rd person takedowns, abundance of cutscenes). If anything for people sceptical like myself this is good for Eidos.

Eidos pretty much said go ahead. They're using it for feedback now so you could take that as a "go-ahead" which would no longer count. Maybe they figured with the Crysis 2 leak, it'd be impossible to keep the news/videos/screens/ect away so they didn't crack down on it?

Looks like it is time to hit up a streaming site so I can watch the pirates play it like with Dragon Age and Crysis 2. Too much work to download the game for myself since I'm buying it on sale unless it lives up to DX1 which I really doubt will happen.

I consider Deus Ex to be the best pc game of all time, and I've probably played it between 50-60 times. I would say given my hatred for modern pc games due to the "port" era we live in... That this Deus Ex is the best we could have hoped for and on a personal level captures the same tone/vibe of the original game.

There are negatives, such as the lack of interaction with various object compared to the original, I also miss the "boy do I suck at using this weapon until I train it a few points" feeling that the original provided. But for the most part it has the makings of a Deus Ex sequel. No invisible war is not a sequel...

Hopefully the story holds up and the choices you make impact the world and that story. Overall I'm "content" with what I played having expected a piece of garbage. That's really the best I can hope for given the current state of pc gaming...
